Bellingham Etymology - Where did Bellingham get its name? 

The city of Bellingham takes its name from the bay on which it is located. The bay was named after Sir William Bellingham, the Royal Navy's supervisor of the storekeeper's account, by George Vancouver, who visited the area in June 1792.

3. Galbraith Mountain Bike Park

The trails of Galbraith Mountain range in difficulty from easy to difficult. All of the trails on Galbraith Mountain cross private land, and rider care and the work of the WMBC are required to gain access to these trails. The north entrance on Birch Street and the south entrance on Samish Way provide access to these historic Bellingham bike paths.

4. Bellingham Farmers Market

From April to December, the Bellingham Farmers Market is held every Saturday. The rows of local shopping choices at these marketplaces feature over 100 sellers. Many of the stalls sell fresh food, handcrafted confections, and local artisan crafts. This exciting public event is also accompanied by live local music.
