The International College at the University of West England Bristol is a collaborative educational venture between UWE Bristol and Kaplan International Pathways. This collaboration allows international students who do not meet university entry requirements to take a pathway course at the University of West England Bristol to help them progress onto their chosen degree.
The University of the West of England Bristol (UWE Bristol) is a public research university in Bristol, England, that was granted university status in 1992. It is located in and around Bristol. The Guardian University Guide 2020 put UWE Bristol among the top 30 universities in the United Kingdom.
The University of the West of England Bristol's International College offers its international students three pathway options: Foundation Certificate, International Year One, and Pre-Masters. A Foundation Certificate helps students progress onto the 1st year of their undergraduate degree. It has two fields of study: Business, Law and Social Science and Science and Engineering. As for International Year One, it is equivalent to the 1st year of an undergraduate degree and is offered in three subjects: Business, Computing, and Engineering. The Pre-Masters programme prepares students for their master’s degree. It has two areas of study: Business, Law and Social Sciences and Science and Engineering.
Students at the International College have access to the University of West England Bristol’s facilities. The facilities and services include a students’ union, a library, sports facilities, an engineering building, mock courtrooms, a greenhouse, robotics laboratories, shared social spaces, learning spaces, and modern classrooms.
Students at the International College can stay in the student accommodation available on campus. Standard ensuites are offered plus plenty of amenities and services. These include fully equipped shared kitchens, a great location, comfortable lounge areas with entertainment facilities, free high-speed Wi-Fi, all-bills inclusive, secure door entry, CCTV, and on-site chargeable laundry facilities.
