Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand, a valuable place known for its fertile land and famous harbours on the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. It is a haven of both nature and urban life. With more than 29,000 km of coastlines and beaches, Auckland is an ideal destination for students. Mercer Quality of Living Survey rated it as the third most livable city in the world. Therefore, it is an excellent choice to live in a student residence in Auckland. It includes one of the top 100 universities in the world, University of Auckland. In 2017, the University of Auckland accepted more than 6700 international students from 110 countries and the number rose drastically in 2019. Still, the university is not the only student destination in the city, there are other famous educational institutions in Auckland, including the Auckland University of Technology and the University of Otago.

Touristic attractions in Auckland are also plenty. In the centre of the city, the iconic Sky Tower stands tall with stunning views of Viaduct Harbour, where you can book a yacht ride or enjoy a stunning evening sipping your favourite coffee on the side of the ocean. Auckland Art Gallery, with the most valuable art collection in Newzeland, is located in the city. It hosts a variety of artworks highlighting Maori and Pacific Island artists. Auckland Domain, located in the central suburb of Grafton, is the city’s oldest park. It is home to the formal Wintergardens, and it currently hosts the Auckland War Memorial Museum, located prominently on the crater rim. It is a vast building built-in 1929 as a memorial dedicated to the soldiers who fought in the first world war. 

Festivals are abundant in AucklandShipwrecked Music & Arts Festival is one of the famous festivals in the city. It is usually held near Lake Tomarata close to the hustle of the city, however, far enough to enjoy stunning green scenery in the area. It includes excellent musical performances and Djing parties. There are also many vendors to buy food to enjoy your day without worries. Latin Festival is another festival worth checking out. It is a celebration of all the Latin art and culture in the city. Latin dancers fill the stage with their presence in this event, and food vendors prepare fresh Latin delicacies to celebrate the occasion. 

Public transportation in Auckland are a lot; there are buses, trains and even ferries. Some buses operate during peak-time while others operate 24/7. Bayes Coachlines, Birkenhead Transport, Go Bus, NZ Bus, Pavlovich Coachlines are few of the available bus operators in the city. There are four main rail lines providing connections to the different areas of Auckland, Eastern Line, Southern Line, Western Line and Onehunga Line. Moreover, Ferries connect the city with islands of the Hauraki Gulf.
