Auckland Etymology-Where did Auckland get its name?

After a British colony was established in New Zealand in 1840, New Zealand's first Governor, William Hobson, established Auckland as the colony's capital in 1841. He named it after Lord Auckland, British First Lord of the Admiralty.

Auckland Climate

Weather and Temperature

In Auckland, summers are short and comfortable. Winters are cold, wet, and windy. It is partly cloudy year-round. Over the year, the temperature varies from 47°F(8°C) to 74°F(23°C) and in some rare cases, it goes below 39°F(4°C) or above 78°F(25°C).

What to Pack and Local Timing

You will need tights or wind pants and long socks to protect your legs from the wind and to keep them warm. For the top, probably a coat will be enough. Also, some waterproofs will be good during the rainy season and of course, an umbrella is a must. Summers are not that hot, so you might just grab a few light clothing options. Auckland time zone is GMT+12 and you should keep that in mind to avoid any kinds of different time zone confusion in the future.
