Why Study at the University of Auckland?

In the heart of the city of Auckland, New Zealand, lies the University of Auckland. It is a world-ranked public research university, listed in the top 100 globally. It is the largest, most comprehensive, and highest-ranked university in New Zealand. Its establishment goes back to the year 1883. It is the most innovative university in New Zealand and placed 35th overall (Asia Pacific's Most Innovative Universities in 2019). The University of Auckland has an honourable  place in the top ten of the international Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings 2021. Currently, the university has around 40,000 students over its five Auckland campuses; it is home to a large number of international students. Departments and Divisions

The university has eight faculties and three associated research institutes. The faculties are the following: Arts, Business School, Creative Arts and Industries, Education and Social Work, Engineering, Medical and Health Sciences, Science, and Auckland Law School. The Faculty of Arts is the home of the subject fields of humanities, social sciences, languages, and indigenous studies. Also, there is the Liggins Institute, the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, and other research institutes and centres. In the Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI), the research deals with the application of mathematical and engineering sciences to biology and human physiology. 

Facilities and Resources

The university has some of the most important learning facilities. There are several learning services and libraries that provide resources, study space, and advice for students on five of the University of Auckland campuses. Early childhood centres are also available at the university. There are six university-managed Early Childhood Centres at the City, Epsom, and Grafton campuses. As for food and retail, there is a range of retail outlets to look after your essential needs at the City campus. Also, there are plenty of options when it comes to eating at the University of Auckland. Each campus has around 10 restaurants and cafes. Besides, the sports facilities in the university are also notable. The university has clubs and teams for multiple sports for students to join. It also offers virtual fitness offerings, including training sessions and one-on-one training sessions with a fitness instructor. Moreover, the university offers personal training, assessments, and small group training. Also, group fitness classes are available, including spin, zumba, pump, total body, yoga, HIIT, and more.

The University of Auckland student accommodation

The University of Auckland offers a wide range of accommodation options for its students. Many students live in residential halls and apartments, which provide catering, social, and welfare services. The university has four residential halls. They are Grafton Hall, O'Rorke Hall, University Hall–Towers, and Waipārūrū Hall. These halls are full-catered and are aimed at first–year university students. In addition, the university has nine self-catered student residences, including Te Tirohanga o te Tōangaroa, Carlaw Park Student Village, Grafton Student Flats, 55 Symonds, University Hall–Towers, UniLodge Auckland, UniLodge on Whitaker, Waikohanga House, and the Goldie Estate Homestead on Waiheke Island.
