Northumbria University is a public university located in Newcastle upon Tyne, North East of England, UK. It was founded in 1992 and originally known as Newcastle Polytechnic which was formed in 1969 from the amalgamation of three regional colleges. Those are Rutherford College of Technology, the College of Art & Industrial Design, and the Municipal College of Commerce. The Polytechnic was awarded university status in September 1992 and became Northumbria University. The university got an excellent result in a recent Institutional Audit by the Quality Assurance Agency and the professional standing of the university’s programmes has been endorsed with accreditation from over 30 professional bodies. Departments and Divisions

Teaching and research activities at Northumbria University are managed by four faculties which are Arts, Design, and Social Sciences, Engineering and Environment, Business and Law, and Health and Life Sciences.
