Departments and Divisions

Birmingham City University consists of three major campuses serving four faculties with a wide range of specialities and major institutions. In the 2014 Framework for Research Excellence, 90% of the university’s studies have shown that its external effect is "exceptional" or "very significant". The university’s faculties include the Faculty of Health, Education, and Life Sciences comprising of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Health Sciences, School of Defence Healthcare Education, and School of Education and Social Work. 

It also has the Faculty of Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment which includes the School of Computing and Digital Technology, Computing, Digital Technology, School of Engineering and the Built Environment, Built Environment, and Engineering. Then there is the Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences which includes Birmingham City Business School, School of Law, School of Social Sciences

Finally, there is also the Faculty of Arts, Design, and Media which includes Birmingham School of Art, Birmingham School of Architecture and Design, School of Fashion and Textiles, School of Jewellery, School of Visual Communication, Birmingham School of Media, School of English, Birmingham School of Acting, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and School of Games, Film and Animation
