Student Accommodation in Belfast

Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland. It lies on the banks of the River Lagan and is famous among tourists and students alike with excellent universities and a variety of student rooms. It started out as a market town and rapidly developed into an industrial hub, as well as a centre of arts, business, law, and higher education. Belfast's population is just over 300 thousand, which makes it second to the capital of Ireland, Dublin.

You will be living within a vibrant student community in Belfast, which has the highest number of international students in the UK. Ulster University has a great location within the city centre's Cathedral Quarter. It is well-known among art students, hosting a range of fashion shows and art exhibitions. Furthermore, Queen's University Belfast is rated among the world's top 200 universities. It is known for its world-class science and medical programs.

There are a lot of free student activities in Belfast to consider. Full-time students can enter the Linen Hall Library for free. The spacious Botanic Gardens are free to enter as well; they have glasshouses with all types of plants, tropical and otherwise. Ulster Museum has everything you might wish to see; you can see an Egyptian mummy or a dinosaur if you are interested in Geology. It also has vintage jewellery, furniture, costumes, and textile collections.

Belfast is heavily dependent on cars, but that doesn’t mean there are no other means of transportation. The company that handles the main transportation methods in Belfast is called Translink. The website has a complete timetable with maps to all metro and bus lines. If you are an avid cycler, you can rent bikes from NextBike in Belfast and cycle around the city centre. There are over 30 bike docking stations in the city centre alone. On the other hand, if you prefer walking, there are useful maps of the city here. Belfast surely has something for everyone, and definitely has something for you.
