Cancellation Policy
What is the cancellation policy?
You may only be released from your tenancy at the landlord’s discretion and if a suitable replacement tenant takes over your contract. The replacement must sign, pay, and move in before any refund is issued. You must also pay an administration fee. If no replacement is found, you remain liable for the full rent until the tenancy ends. Full terms apply as set out in Section 6 of your Tenancy Agreement.
Can I cancel after moving in?
Yes, but only under the same conditions. You remain bound by your tenancy unless a suitable replacement tenant is approved.
Can I do a tenancy takeover?
Yes, if the replacement tenant is at least 18, a full-time student near the accommodation, signs the remaining contract, pays all sums due, and provides a guarantor where required. If not completed within 7 days, you remain responsible for the tenancy and rent.
What if I don’t get a place at university?
You may only be released if a suitable replacement tenant is found and approved, and you provide both a rejection/withdrawal letter and a new acceptance letter from another institution.
