About The Railyard Roost

The Railyard Roost by Student Roost is a student housing in Liverpool that offers ensuites. They come in two styles: Silver Ensuite and Bronze Ensuite. All room types include a small double bed, under bed storage, a study desk and a chair, a wardrobe, and a set of drawers.

The building has many facilities and services. The facilities include high-speed Wi-Fi, contents insurance, on-site laundry facilities, secure car parking (additional fee), on-site staff 24/7, a secured deposit, and ANUK accreditation. Other services include a spacious communal lounge, a BBQ area, and a social calendar.

Liverpool is situated on the River Mersey's eastern bank. The city is known for its rich culture, Tudor, and contemporary architecture. It is the UK's fifth most visited city.

The residence has a great location at Crown Station Place, only a short walk from Liverpool city centre. It is in the heart of life, energy, history, food, and drink; it’s surrounded by many exciting and lively locations, including eatery spots, entertainment venues, and other places of interest. If you’d like to have a mouth-watering pizza, The Quarter restaurant is a 13-minute walk from the property and it serves Italian fare including pasta, pizza, and deli in an Italian-inspired setting. If you want to grab a quick bite, Honest Burgers Liverpool is just a short walk from the premises and it serves juicy hamburgers plus fries and drinks in a bright space. Kimos Restaurant is another nearby diner serving delicious Middle Eastern food in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. When you need to do some grocery and snack shopping, Tesco Express supermarket is just around the corner and it has plenty of products at great prices to cater to your needs. Before you set off for your busy day on campus, we suggest you go for a refreshing morning walk at Crown Street Park where you can enjoy the beautiful greenery and the great scenery. As we recommend great places to gain calories, we also recommend places to lose them. PureGym Liverpool Central is close by and it is fully equipped with the latest athletic facilities. During the weekend, you may enjoy a night out with your pals and watch the latest box office movies at the ODEON Liverpool One movie theatre. You may also choose to go on a shopping spree at St Johns Shopping Centre where you’ll find lots of shops, stores, and boutiques.

Lovely scenic accommodation, all be it in a rough area, the staff are very helpful particularly the night staff. However due to the interconnected drains throughout the building and each flat a constant bad smell arises from the sink. Many of us students feel that this is disgusting and quite uncomfortable and would be nice to have this issue fixed before the first years arrive next year. Not only that but there are certain aspects of the building that are falling apart such as windows in the kitchen which we have only just been able to close properly at the end of first year and the kettle which leaks every time your pour it. Although if your looking for a great scenic place with easy access to almost anywhere in Liverpool and helpful loyal staff then the Railyard might be for you. P.s. A note to first years, try not to stress, the first few days will be hard and possibly anxiety ridden but everything will just fall into place after a while, have a great year and don't be scared about getting out there to meet people.

Great location and decent enough rooms, although the carpets and ensuites are in need of a revamp. They have been great and offering money back over lockdown periods. The staff are also very responsive, however the water pressure has been messed up for the past 6 months, bar a 3 week period. Despite sending tens of emails, I can still hear the loud water pumps switching on and off constantly 24/7 in my room.

There is nothing better than an irresponsible team that fails to resolve every time they complain about noise
