Dubai Etymology - Where Did the Name Dubai Come From?

Dubai was named “Al Wasl” before, it’s an Arabic word that means connection. After the development of Dubai, it was named as it is right now. Since in Arabic, the word Dubai comes from an Arabic verb that describes the hard long way Dubai has taken to reach today’s outstanding development, it means to crawl or to creep, and the city has crawled its way to become the new modern Dubai we see now.

Is Dubai a Nice Place to Be Having Your Accommodation in?

Dubai UAE is a nice place to live for anyone in the world. It gives you all sorts of comfort possible. You will be living the movie “Richie Riche”, and you will be the main actor/actress. The whole city gives a vibe of a classy, rich environment with an Arabic touch of tradition.

Dubai Location

Lots of you probably know where Dubai is and they think why are we bringing this subject up? Well, to surprise you, some people think that Dubai is actually in India… It is a bit awkward but there is a reasonable explanation for that. UAE has 3,420,000 Indians living there, which is over 27% of the population of the UAE. Most of them live in Dubai, which is why people get confused and thought that Dubai is a part of India. Well to those people, Dubai is located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in the north of Abu Dhabi, which is also in the UAE.

Having Your Student Accommodation in Dubai?

Dubai UAE is not just a good option, it’s the best option. Even though Dubai is an Arabic country, you will never feel like an outsider when you visit it. Dubai has many foreigners from all over the world, not just visiting Dubai, but living in it, so you will feel at home. Only 15% of native residents live in Dubai. Dubai UAE is ranked as the first leading city destination for international visitor spending. You will be spending a lot when you see the huge malls with the fancy shops. the incredibly delicate food, the traditional gift stores, the car exhibits, and other things you will never imagine even existed.

Dubai Climate

Weather and Temperature

First of all, let’s not forget the fact that Dubai is originally a desert, with a tropical desert climate. If you come from a cold country and you’re sick of feeling cold all the time, we guarantee you very hot summers with a temperature reaching 40 °C and sometimes even higher. It’s also a bit humid in summers, but you’ll find a nice cold breeze at night or near Dubai beach. When it comes to winter, don’t worry, it’s not that cold. Temperatures start from 23 °C and rarely go down to 14 °C, which guarantees a warm winter. Rain chances were quite rare until lately, they started increasing. However, rain in Dubai is irregular and unpredictable.

So What to Pack? And What’s the Time Zone in Dubai?

Light, very light clothes with suitable fabric for the hot summer. Try avoiding nylon, acrylic, and polyester fabric clothing as it will only make it worst. You could also grab a swimsuit as you’ll probably be visiting Dubai beach a lot. Since rain chances are rare, you may not need waterproofs or rain boots, but grab an umbrella just in case. And maybe some lighted warm clothing for the warm winter and that cool night breeze. Overall, don’t worry about the hot summer, as air conditioners are everywhere you go in Dubai. The only place with no air conditioners in the streets. The Time zone in Dubai UAE is GMT+4.

What is Dubai UAE Famous For?

Dubai is famous for having the most luxurious shopping malls, modernly built architecture and extremely lively nightlife. Many of you probably heard about the famous Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and it was also featured in many worldwide movies. You will get to see it every day. Dubai is s also famous for the horse racing worldwide cup, the Dubai World Cup. Real Estate and tourism are the bones of the economy, and the development of innovative and over-the-top projects don’t stop or even have the intention to do so. That’s why Dubai opens its arms for businessmen and helps whoever wants to start a project on their land. It’s a great way to start your student life here as it may grow to become a business life.
