A proud member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the University of Brighton Business School has been giving business and management courses since the 1960s. It’s located in Mithras House on the University of Brighton’s Moulsecoomb campus, a short distance from Brighton city centre. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees taught by around 120 members of highly qualified academic staff. The school used to be part of Brighton Technical College then took its current name in 1986. Its Membership to the Business Education Alliance connects it with other business schools to share the best learning approaches, practices, and research. Not only does the school offer the necessary knowledge to succeed in the business world but it also supports students in finding work placements during their studies to apply what they are learning.
The University of Brighton Business School offers career-focused undergraduate courses combined with paid professional work placement. Full-time degrees take three or four years. They include Business Management BSc(Hons), Business Management with Marketing BSc(Hons), Marketing Management BSc(Hons), Accounting and Finance BSc(Hons), Economics BSc(Hons), Finance and Investment BSc(Hons), Law with Business LLB(Hons), Law with Criminology LLB(Hons), International Tourism Management BSc(Hons), International Event Management with Marketing BSc(Hons), and more.
The University of Brighton Business School postgraduate courses are flexible and help you gain an advantage in the competitive business world. There are both full-time and part-time courses offered in various fields such as marketing, managing change, supply chain management, finance, management, and HR. Finance full-time courses include Economics and Finance MSc (PGCert PGDIP), Finance and Banking MSc, and more. Law full-time courses include International Law and Social Justice LLM, Law Conversion LLM, and Law CPE PGDip. Management full-time courses offer International Event Management MSc (PGCert PGDip), International Tourism Management MSc (PGCert PGDip), Management MSc (PGCert PGDip), and more. Marketing full-time courses include Marketing (Branding and Communications) MSc (PGCert PGDip), Marketing (Social Marketing) MSc (PGCert PGDip), and more. As for part-time courses, they include Accounting (ACCA) MSc (PGCert PGDip), Logistics and Supply Chain Management MSc (PGCert PGDip), Marketing (Digital Marketing) MSc (PGCert PGDip), and more.
Executive courses at the University of Brighton Business School aim to deliver highly practical education by commercially experienced lecturers. Courses are tailored to adapt to students needs, whether they are trying to progress in their current career or embarking on a career shift. Executive courses on enhancing market-specific skills such as leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and analytical skills. These courses include Brighton Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, Postgraduate Diploma in Law/CPE, Diploma in Professional Studies in Accounting (ACCA), and Managing Change and Innovation.
The University of Brighton Business School also offers a number of optional modules on Entrepreneurship and Gamification. Gamification is available on all MSc Management degrees, all BSc Business, Business Management and International Business courses, the MBA, and other Master and Executive courses. As for Entrepreneurship, all Business and Marketing students have the opportunity to take modules in New Business Planning. All undergraduate students can also study modules on Small Business & Entrepreneurship and/or Social Enterprise (except for Finance and Investment BSc). Masters students taking MSc Management (Entrepreneurship), MSc Management, and MBA can study modules on Entrepreneurship and New Venture Planning, Virtual and Business Enterprises. The school also has Beepurple, an entrepreneurial network where students can partake in activities and connect with other recent graduates who successfully set up their own businesses to gain insights and essential enterprise skills.
