Casita offers seven University College of Estate Management student accommodations and Reading student halls because the university does not have its own on-campus student housing. University College of Estate Management (UCEM), formerly known as the College of Estate Management (CEM), is a higher-education institution that offers distance learning courses to people working in the real estate development and construction industries all over the world.
The "Chartered Auctioneers' and Estate Agents' Institute," which eventually became the "Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, (RICS)" launched the College of Estate Management in 1919. The institution was created primarily to assist the Estate Management and Construction industries, which are both property-related. The University of London granted the College permission to conduct tuition for its internal degree in 1938. The College first collaborated with the University of Reading in 1967, and in 1972, it moved from Kensington, London, to the University of Reading's Whiteknights Campus.
Departments and Divisions
University College of Estate Management provides students with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Undergraduate programmes include BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management, BSc (Hons) Construction Management, and BSc (Hons) Building Surveying, among others. As for postgraduate programmes, they include MSc Real Estate, MSc Construction Management, MSc Quantity Surveying…etc. They also offer apprenticeship programmes for apprentices and employers.

Since the university offers online learning programmes, it is also committed to offering a state of the art learning environment for online learners. The online services include The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where students can find vital information that’ll help them while studying, timetabled webinars in the form of lectures, seminars, briefings, drop-in surgeries and Q&A sessions, a student engagement team, weekly, topic and assessment discussion forums on the VLE, Padlet boards, and virtual office hours for individual conversations and support.
