Departments and Divisions
The university has a number of schools and research institutes. There is a very large number of multidisciplinary research centres and institutes that includes the Aberdeen HDVC Research Centre, the Autism and Christian Community Centre, Citizenship Civil Society and Rule of Law Centre, the Elphinstone Institute, and many more. The university has 12 schools with a broad range of disciplines. The Business School is considered a leading international provider of excellence in both undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The Schools incorporating the Arts and Social Sciences include Divinity, History and Philosophy, Education, Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture, Law, and Social Science. The School incorporating the Life Sciences and Medicine is a research-led centre with top-quality teaching that includes Biological Sciences, Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, and Psychology. The Schools incorporating the Physical Sciences offer extensive Engineering and energy-related degree programmes such as Engineering, Geosciences, and Natural and Computing Sciences. The Postgraduate Research School works in partnership with Professional Services colleagues and academic schools in order to enhance the postgraduate experience and support professional and career development.
Facilities and Resources
The Old Aberdeen King’s College campus is considered the heart of the university; it contains preserved buildings and facilities. It includes a chapel, a museum, and a conference centre. It also contains the Elphinstone Hall which holds the university’s graduation ceremony, an Aberdeen sports village with an Old Town House, the Student’s Union Building, a Botanic Garden, and Zoology Museum.
The Foresterhill campus provides high-quality health services, research, and education. It’s jointly owned by the university and NHS Grampian. It includes the Suttie Centre which is a learning and teaching centre to be used by students, healthcare practitioners and health staff, the Institute of Medical Sciences, the Dental School, the Health Sciences Building, the Lilian Sutton Building, and the Rowett Institute. Oceanlab is the marine research facility of the university, and Cromarty has a dual aim of supporting research in the School of Biological Sciences and integrating the work into the School of Biological Sciences teaching and outreach activities.

University of Aberdeen Student Accommodation for Undergraduate Students:
The university offers catered and self-catered undergraduate accommodation. Catered accommodation can be found in Adam Smith House where meals are provided as a part of the contract and all rooms include a wash-hand basin; this accommodation starts with £147 per week, for 38 weeks. Undergraduate self-catered accommodation can be found at Fyfe House, Wavell House, Grant Court, South House, Keith House, Hector Boece Court, North Court, and Hector Boece Court. The majority of lease weeks are 38, and some other leases are for 38 - 42 weeks and for 38 - 49 weeks.
University of Aberdeen Student Accommodation for Postgraduate Students:
All postgraduate accommodation is self-catered. There are many halls of residence for students to choose from such as Wavell House, Elphinstone Road Flats, South House, and Kings Hall. Lease lengths are from 38 - 49 weeks.
University of Aberdeen Student Accommodation for PGDE Students:
Professional Graduate Diploma in Education PGDE students are offered self-catered student accommodation in Keith House with lease length from 38 - 42 weeks.

Catered and self-catered University of Aberdeen student accommodation is available for study abroad exchange students.
