Is a booking deposit required?
Yes. A €200 booking deposit is required to reserve your room. This payment confirms your booking and secures your chosen accommodation.


Is there a security deposit?
Yes. Students booking for the academic year must pay a security deposit equivalent to one month's rent (before any discounts are applied).


When is the security deposit due?
For academic-year bookings, the security deposit must be paid on 1 August.


How is rent paid?
Rent is paid on a monthly basis throughout your stay. Accommodation fees are charged as monthly payments rather than a single upfront payment for the entire contract period.


What is included in the rent?
Accommodation prices are advertised as all-inclusive monthly rates. This generally includes utilities, Wi-Fi, and residence services, although inclusions may vary depending on the room type and contract.


When do I need to make payments?
Payment timings are typically as follows:

  • Booking deposit (€200): Paid when making your reservation.

  • Security deposit: Paid on 1 August for academic-year bookings.

Does the €200 booking deposit count as the security deposit?

Can I cancel my booking and receive a refund?
You may be eligible for a refund if you made your reservation before 31 July 2026 and notify Micampus Madrid of your cancellation before that date. Refunds are only available if:

  • You are not admitted to IE Business School and must move to another city where there is no Micampus residence.

  • You are accepted into an ERASMUS programme and can provide proof of admission.


What happens if I cancel after 31 July 2026?
If you made your reservation after 31 July 2026, or if you notify Micampus Madrid of your cancellation after that date, penalties will apply. The residence will retain:

  • The enrolment fee.

  • The security deposit.


What if I leave the residence before my contract ends?

If you need to move out before the end of your contract, you must give at least three months' written notice before your intended check-out date.

If you do not provide the required notice, penalties will apply. Under the policy, the penalty is:

  • Two months' accommodation fees, plus

  • The security deposit.


How do I submit a cancellation request?
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. An email sent to the residence is accepted as a valid cancellation notice.


When will I receive my refund?
If you are eligible for a refund, it will be processed after 15 September. While refunds are prioritised, processing may take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete.


What happens if I do not complete my booking?
If you do not complete your booking by paying the deposit and signing the contract, the booking will be cancelled. In this situation, you will not be eligible for a refund of any amount already paid, as the payment will be retained as a penalty.


What documents may be required to support a cancellation request?

Depending on the reason for cancellation, Micampus Madrid may require supporting documentation, such as:

  • Proof that you were not admitted to IE Business School.

  • Proof of acceptance into an ERASMUS programme.

This documentation must be provided to support any request for a refund under the cancellation policy.
