About The Summit

The Summit by Student Roost is a student housing in Leicester that offers apartments and studios. The apartments come in two styles: One-Bed Apartments, and Four-Bed Apartments. As for the studios, they come in four styles: Gold Studio, Silver Studio, Bronze Studio, and Platinum Studio. All room types include a double bed, under bed storage, a study desk and a chair, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers.

Leicester sits at the eastern edge of the National Forest, on the Soar River. With roots reaching back to the Iron Age, it is one of England's oldest cities.

The property is located at Eastern Boulevard, just ten minutes away from Leicester city centre. It’s surrounded by many exciting and lovely locations, including eatery spots, entertainment and nightlife venues, and other places of interest. If you wish to grab a quick bite, Phat Buns is a five-minute walk from the residence and it serves hamburgers plus fries and drinks in a simple setting. If you’re craving a mouth-watering pizza, Franklin Cafe and  Restaurant is just a short walk from the building and it offers Italian fare including pizza and pasta in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. If you’re into Japanese cuisine, we suggest you make a stop at the nearby Little Tokyo Restaurant. It offers an authentic Japanese menu in a cozy space. When you need to do some grocery shopping, Tesco Express supermarket is five minutes away and it has a plethora of products at great deals to cater to your needs. After your busy day on campus, we highly recommend you go for a casual evening stroll at Bede Park. It has spacious green fields, beautiful scenery, and long walking paths. Over the weekend, you may go on a night out with your pals and watch the latest box office movies at the ODEON Luxe Leicester movie theatre. You may also choose to go on a shopping spree at Haymarket Shopping Centre which has many stores, shops, boutiques, and eateries. Another thing you can do during the weekend is be a tourist for the day and explore the local history and more by visiting the Leicester Museum and Art Gallery. It has many interesting and interactive exhibitions.

While the staff are amazing and the location and large windows in the studios are nice, I have also had a lot of bad/gross experiences. I booked the Gold Studio and the only part that looked like the pictures when I moved in was the shape of the room. A broken table was laying in the middle of the room, the toilet seat was completely unattached and laying on the bathroom floor, there were sick stains on the mattress, the sink was clogged, I did not have any seating which was promised in my contract, the TV didn't work until November, and mold and dust was everywhere. Clearly, no one checked the room at all before I moved in, though the front desk and maintenance staff have always been quick to respond if I need any help. Once, I walked into the building and found a homeless man sleeping under the stairs and had to report it to the front desk who had to have the police remove him. Despite supposedly having security 24/7, no one has managed students partying/having loads of people over during the lockdown which puts all residents at risk of exposure. Unsafe and often unclean. I wouldn't live here if I had the chance to do it again.

The staff in this building are very helpful with any issues that may arise. It's in a good location (less than 5 min walk from DMU, about 20 min walk to Uni of Leicester). The free gym for residents is very close by and of good quality with lots of machines available. Grocery stores, etc. also very close by. It is a student building so can get loud at times, but if you are ok with this, then it is a good place to live and seems better than other student accommodations available in Leicester. The views are nice, and if you like to watch live sports it is 5 min walk to King Power Stadium for Leicester City FC, and also 5 min walk to Leicester Tigers rugby. In front of the building is the River Soar/Canal, which has walking paths and is nice to go by the water and see the swans, geese, ducks, etc. If looking for student accommodation in Leicester, it's a good option.

Excellent place to stay. Lived there during my postgraduate studies and I was very satisfied. Very helpful staff, good quality studios in affordable prices and in a very good location, about 20min walk to University of Leicester and 15min to the city center. They also provide a bus everyday to the University of Leicester so you don't always have to walk there.
