The location is the only good thing about this place. Reception staff is nice but management are stupid. Poor decision making from Unite ( doing renovations and closing access routes when students and moving in and out). Unreliable in terms of facilities such as laundry and maintenance. Anyone can come in your room or flat without letting you know. No one really cares about the students. Older students are treated like kids. You will be asked for your keys even when you are already in the building.

I have lived there in 2019-20. It was genuinely a very lively and friendly atmosphere with outdoors and indoors common areas. Reception staff is there 24/7, you ask anything and always have a positive reply. Shout out to Luke for being the best manager of Unite, finding a solution for any of your problems. If you have any repairs to do in the flat, e.g. stove is not working, shower is clogged, just ask reception and it will be fixed within 3-5 working days. The room itself is up-to-standards, the kitchen is very large, you would probably be assigned one shelf in the fridge as per usual. However, there are a couple of cons in how the building runs though. I lived in block B, the lift was broken in January, it was September when I left and it was still broken? It just takes ages to repair any big appliances, the vending machine on ground floor is still broken too and it has been 2 months now. Secondly, Stratford One has a teeny bad design, it’s just that when you want to take out the trash, you have to go through five stairs of hell. It just stinks because the trash bins are in the bottom of these stairs, you just have to bear the flux of smelly garbage. If you have a party in your kitchen, sometimes you would have a security guard shoving a phone in your face and recording you because they want to shut the party. Sometimes it will be friendly, and they will just ask the students to leave the kitchen. It’s just Russian roulette onwho it is.

Me and my flat have been staying here for the past few months. Overall Stratford One is a good place for students to live, it's close to everything you need such as westfield and the GP. The main reason our experience has been so good is 100% due to the staff, especially Duncan and Lon!! They have gone above and beyond to help us out and don't fail to put a smile on our faces when we pass them in reception.
