Yes. An advance payment equivalent to up to one week’s licence fee is required at the time of booking for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Students may choose one of the following options:

  • Payment in full

  • Payment in instalments (11-instalment payment plan)

An advance payment of up to one week’s licence fee must be paid at the time of booking.

When is the first instalment due?
All students must pay their first instalment by 1 July 2026.

What is the duration of the licence period?
The duration is 41 weeks.

Is a guarantor required?
No, a guarantor is not required.

What is the instalment payment schedule?
All amounts are percentages of the total licence fee:

  • 1 July 2026: 2% + 10%

What does this policy cover?
Rules for cancelling student accommodation bookings, including legal rights, fees, and conditions under the Advance Licence Agreement (ALA).


What is the cooling-off period?
You may cancel after signing the ALA if:

  • Within 7 days (or 48 hours if booked from 1 Aug 2026)

  • Before collecting keys

The booking fee (up to 1 week) is credited if you continue.


What refund applies in a cooling-off period?
Full refund of all fees paid.


What happens after cooling off?

  • ALA becomes binding

  • All fees must be paid

  • Cancellation is generally not allowed

Can I cancel later?
Only if:

  • A replacement student is found and approved

  • €100 fee applies

What are the visa rules?

  • You must secure your visa

  • Visa refusal: cancellation allowed with proof within 5 days

  • Visa delay: fees still apply

What if I don’t get a university place?

  • You may cancel and get a refund
  • Proof required within 5 working days

  • Must be within the reasonable distance requirement

What if I move in?
Cancellation only in medical exceptional cases:

  • Requires withdrawal letter + medical proof

  • A replacement student may still be required

  • €100 fee may apply

Not allowed if:

  • Still enrolled

  • Voluntary withdrawal or deferral

  • Academic or disciplinary removal

Are decisions final?
Yes, under the complaints process.


Are there refund charges?
A €12 international transfer fee applies.
