Lovingly renovated half-timbered house near Harzgerode in the Harz Mountains Our renovated half-timbered house in Schielo is the perfect starting point for numerous leisure activities. Featuring two bedrooms, it offers ample space for 4 people. A baby cot and high chair are also available. Furthermore, the house boasts a spacious living and dining area with a TV, a modern daylight bathroom with a walk-in shower, a guest toilet, and a kitchen with seating. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, induction stove, fridge with freezer compartment, and all common small kitchen appliances. A washing machine is available for use if required. On warm days, the large, natural garden invites you to relax, play, and barbecue. On colder days, our wood-burning stove in the living room provides cozy warmth and comfort. The little village of Schielo, part of the town of Harzgerode, is surrounded by the signature forests of the Harz region. These are ideal for long walks, hikes, or bike tours. You also have the opportunity to visit various sights. The UNESCO World Heritage town of Quedlinburg, with its beautifully restored half-timbered houses, is approx. 30 km away. The timber-framed town of Stolberg (Harz), offering traditional restaurants. One of the world’s longest suspension footbridges can be found in Elbingerode at the Rappbode Dam, just under 50 km away. Other interesting excursion destinations in the area include the Kyffhäuser, the "Hexentanzplatz" (Witches' Dance Floor) in Thale, the limestone caves in Rübeland, the Grube Glasebach mining museum, or a ride on the Harz Narrow Gauge Railway. In the height of summer, you can cool off at the Birnbaumteich swimming lake or the Albertine outdoor pool in Harzgerode.
