Is the application fee refundable?
The application fee is fully refunded if your application is not accepted. Once you have been accepted into the program, the application fee becomes non-refundable.
How do I secure my place in the program?
If you are accepted more than 75 days before departure, you must pay 50% of your total program balance to confirm your place.
When is the remaining program balance due?
The remaining balance must be paid by the following deadlines:
Teen Summer Programs: April 15
Fall Gap Programs: June 15
Spring Gap Programs: November 15
What if I apply within 75 days of departure?
If you apply within 75 days of the departure date, the full program fee is due immediately.
What happens if I want to change my program after booking?
If you request an itinerary change within 75 days before departure, you must pay a $1,500 late change fee plus any difference in the program cost. All changes are subject to availability, and no changes are permitted once the program has started.
What currency are payments made in?
All program fees and charges are payable in U.S. dollars (USD).
What does the program fee include?
The tuition generally includes shared accommodation, specified meals, ground transportation, scheduled group activities, internal flights where stated, taxes, and pre-departure planning and support.
What costs are not included in the program fee?
The program fee does not include international airfare, travel insurance, passports, visas, baggage fees, meals not listed as included, personal expenses, laundry, additional course fees, required testing (including COVID-19 testing where applicable), or medical expenses.
Is travel insurance included in the program fee?
No. Participants are required to obtain their own travel insurance, including coverage for emergency medical treatment, medical evacuation, repatriation, and COVID-19-related expenses. Trip cancellation insurance is also strongly recommended.

Yes. Payments made towards a program may be transferred to another program within the same session, but they cannot be carried forward as credit for future sessions.
Cancellation Policy
GEC Cancellation Policy and Payment
Payment:
To finalise your booking, you must pay a deposit equal to half a month's rent plus a one-time amenity fee. After that, the monthly rent will be paid on a continuous basis.
Cancellation Policy:
The renter is required to inform the landlord in writing if they wish to end their lease agreement early. In such cases, the following cancellation rules will apply.
If the renter provides written notice to cancel their booking more than 60 days before their move-in date, the amenities fee they paid will not be returned. However, their security deposit and any rent they have already paid will be refunded. There will be no additional charges for this cancellation.
If the renter provides written notice to cancel their booking less than 60 days before their scheduled move-in date, neither the amenity fee nor the security deposit will be refunded. Any rent that has already been paid will be returned to the renter.
For cancellations that occur after the renter has already moved into the property, a written notice is necessary. Additionally, a cancellation fee of $500.00 will be charged. This fee is applied when a renter decides to terminate their lease agreement before the originally agreed-upon end date.
Furthermore, the amenity fee and the security deposit will not be refunded. The renter will be obligated to pay rent until the end of the second month following the start date of their cancellation notice, or until the original end date of their lease, whichever comes first.
If the renter cancels before the lease ends, any rent discounts they received will be recalculated based on the actual duration of their stay, including the notice period, according to the amounts specified in their lease agreement.
All the cancellation fees mentioned above are considered a fair estimate of the financial losses the landlord will incur as a result of the renter ending the lease agreement early.
If a renter's visa or study permit application is denied, they must provide the landlord with the official rejection letter from Immigration and Citizenship Canada at least 14 days before their move-in date.
In this specific situation, the renter will receive a full refund of the amenity fee, the security deposit, and any rent they have already paid.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the landlord will review cancellation requests on an individual basis. The standard cancellation policy may be adjusted to take into account any significant and exceptional circumstances.
The above cancellation policy is a synopsis of the property’s cancellation policy. There could be a few changes incorporated from time to time. Hence, we recommend you review the full Accommodation Contract for a comprehensive understanding of their cancellation policies.
