Had a great time staying here during my first year at uni. Never encountered any issues thanks to the amazing staff. It's close to everything so was really easy to explore on a night or day out. Would definitely recommend.

Had a great experience staying here for my first year. The location, being so close to the sea, is perfect for nights out and the staff are always there to help if you need it. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

The short version: don’t stay here, go live on the beach instead. I am a final year student who previously lived in student village (a cold, desolate box with other depressed students) and Brassey Road (the bleaker side of Winton) and Lulworth is hands down the worst place I lived during my time in Bournemouth. I lived in Lulworth for roughly two months before leaving when the country went in to lockdown again. During my stay I had an appalling level of comfort. When I first moved in I realised how small the room was instantly. This was my fault as I hadn’t inspect the room prior. You get a tiny 2 foot wide closest with a singular rail for clothing and a shelf. Lucky I’m not a fashionable person so I don’t have a huge amount of clothes but I could imagine this being an issue if you did. Within the first week I developed a back pain that I had never had before due to the uncomfortable mattress - I eventually had to buy a rather expensive mattress topper to help ease this. The room itself was dusty, so much so that I gained a cough and struggled to breathe in the room at times. It’s not ideal for anyone with asthma. There was also a strange smell being projected from the sink which told me it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. This was reassured when I realised quickly that the shower water wasn’t draining away after a shower. Meaning I once again had to fork out and buy some drain unblocker which seemed to solve the issue. The kitchen area is basic; a fridge/freezer that is too small to even store an oven pizza. No cutlery draw so be prepared to bring a cup or something to hold all your knives and forks. Also none of my trays fit the oven/microwave, (it’s a tiny circular thing) that was in the room so it was difficult to cook anything of quality. If you are in the room during the summer I will pray for you as the heat is unbearable. I moved in at the end of August and the temperature was around 20 degrees and I was sweating all day if I was inside. Had to buy 3 fans to try and deal with the issue. The internet here is awful - for a year when internet speed was a priority I’d be lucky to get above 800kb/s download speed. I originally thought the room would come with wired internet connection as it was mentioned in the information booklet but when I couldn’t seem to find an Ethernet socket, I emailed reception and this was supposedly a “typo” in the booklet. On the day I was moving out the windows started leaking and pissing water all over the room which highlights the shabby quality of parts of this building. The walls are paper thin so be prepared to be woken up. The maintenance team seemed to be efficient when working on issues, which is good. They’ve probably had a fair bit of practice. However for the money I was paying for the property I believe these basic issues should have been fixed before my arrival. I had mixed reactions with the staff. When asking reception to organise the maintenance team visit it usually took a few days to have stuff fixed as I believe he only comes once a week (which is fair) so I’m grateful they were able to pass on my issues. However, on occasion I felt as if the people working their were overwhelmed by the number of students they had to deal with. I was told I hadn’t paid my first rent payment when I had and was asked to pay again. Lucky I had my receipt on me from the first payment to close this issue - so word of advice is to keep all receipts. Also, you will likely have to wait a couple of days for an email reply if the employees are dealing with a number of emails. For the amount of money I was paying I would have expected much better than the service I received. I don’t think asking for a stable internet connection in 2021 should be a big ask, nor a kitchen that is properly equipped to deal with ‘normal things’. I can’t recommend this place to anyone in its current state. Also please remember that all of these issues happening in the space of 2 months... the only time I will be returning to Lulworth is to collect the remainder of my belongings.

Really enjoyed staying here during my first year. Made lots of new friends and loved my room. Gym was great, and the building is so close to the sea. Highly recommended.
