Zaragoza, also called Saragossa, is a Northeastern province in Aragon, Spain, by the Ebro River. The city's name has Arabic origins as it was once called Saraqusṭah, which comes from the Roman name Caesaraugusta, a name given to the city when it was a Roman colony during the first century BC.
The city is known for its beautiful cathedrals, such as the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Cathedral. Zaragoza also has iconic buildings such as the Gothic-styled exchange building called La Lonja, the Islamic-styled Aljafería Palace, and the 17th-century established Palace of the Condes de Sástago y Argillo.
