Swansea University has announced that there will be an official partnership with the two PBSA providers in the city.

Seren and True Student, the two providers, have conducted a three-year deal, which will provide the university with an additional 800 beds available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The first building, True Swansea, which belongs to True Students, provides over 550 beds in en-suite rooms in clusters of 5 or 6, in addition to the studio rooms offered. Listed at £178 pppw (per person per week), en-suite rooms are a great choice for students. Studio rooms are £214, with more privacy. The accommodation is located on Morfa Road in the city centre, which is close to everything. There are a variety of amenities offered by the property, including communal areas that contain a gym, a cinema, an onsite pizzeria and cafe, and communal study zones.

Seren, the other provider, offers additional 250 beds at their building that is located in front of Swansea’s train station. It is arranged in clusters of 8, 10, and 12. En-suite rooms are available at £170, £165, and £160 pppw, while studio rooms are available at £185. Several features are provided at the premises to make the students’ stay much easier. These facilities include a gym and half basketball court, indoor and outdoor cinema, gaming rooms, karaoke rooms, a landscaped courtyard with BBQs, a rooftop terrace, a library, and private study spaces.

Niamh Lamond, the university's Registrar and Chief Operating Officer, said, “We are delighted to have this new agreement with True Student and Seren, which will mean that all first-year students, including those who come through Clearing, will be guaranteed accommodation as part of our offer to them. It also gives our students an even wider range of accommodation choices, while still giving them that all-important Swansea University experience.”

"This collaboration is great news for Swansea students, more of whom will now get the chance to experience everything we offer here at True Swansea, and for the university, which is keen to broaden the types of accommodation options it can offer. But, beyond that, this is a fantastic endorsement of True Student that demonstrates how important it is for providers to look beyond the bricks and mortar and to put student care, experience and wellbeing at the very heart of their operations. I'm really looking forward to building this relationship with Swansea University to truly elevate the Swansea student experience." Ben Morley, which is the managing director at True Student, added.

“Seren is proud to be in partnership with Swansea University on this 3-year Nomination Agreement with our operator CRM having a long successful history of developing and maintaining strong ties with prominent educational establishments. Seren's best-in-class accommodation located in the heart of Swansea offers students an extensive range of facilities which will help them work, rest and play.” Adam Campbell from Seren noted.

He also added, “Seren has a priority focus on student health and wellbeing with initiatives running throughout the whole year, and an extended collaboration on these with Swansea University is something the team is looking forward to. The onsite retail units include Tesco, Greggs, and Coffee Blue, which provides students with ideal convenience to keep energy levels topped up during those busy study periods while the gym, basketball courts and free bike hire service can offer a welcome break from studying. Seren is confident that Swansea University students will have a fantastic experience while staying with us and will help to make their time studying in Swansea a memorable one.”
