Departments and Divisions

The College of Charleston has six schools offering 64 majors. These are The School of the Arts, The School of Business, The School of Education, Health, and Human Performance, The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, The School of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs, and The School of Sciences and Mathematics. The college also has the Honors College and the Graduate School of the University of Charleston. The college’s popular majors include Accounting, History, Art History, Data Science, and Theatre, among others. 

Facilities and Resources

The College of Charleston’s campus is one of the most beautiful campuses in the US. It features many facilities and services that help enrich the students’ academic and social experiences. 

  1. Clubs and Organisations

The College of Charleston has around 240 student clubs and organisations that students can be a part of. Through these clubs, students get to meet new people, make new friends, serve their community, and share their talents.

  1. Sports Clubs

Students at the College of Charleston get to enjoy sports activities and recreation at 22 sports clubs. These sports include yoga, soccer, volleyball, and basketball.

  1. Arts and Culture 

Every semester, the School of the Arts at the College of Charleston hosts plays, musicals, and operas. The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, an interdisciplinary laboratory displaying the creations of up-and-coming artists from all around the world, is also located at the school. Each year, the institute mounts six exhibitions, in addition to sponsoring events like artist lectures and film screenings.

  1.  Mace Brown Museum of Natural History

The museum has over 30,000 fossils of vertebrates and invertebrates. The collection's primary area of interest is North American mammal palaeontology, with a concentration on the South Carolina Lowcountry.

The College of Charleston's Career Center offers students career counselling services and answers all your career-related queries.

In addition to the previously mentioned, the college offers fully equipped computer labs, bookstores, and a place where students can blow off some steam and relax.

College of Charleston Student Accommodation

There’s an on-campus College of Charelston student accommodation. The campus has 11 residence halls, including Buist Rivers, College Lodge, Joe E. Berry Hall, and Marcia Kelly McAlister Hall. Air conditioning, free washers and dryers, free Wi-Fi, and either a microwave, kitchenette, or complete kitchen are amenities found in every hall and house on campus.
