The University of Bedfordshire, Luton Campus is a public research university that was founded in 1882 but received university status only in 1993. The University of Luton was previously known as the University of Luton before being renamed the University of Bedfordshire in 2006. Bedford and Luton are the university's two main campuses. The University of Bedfordshire Business School, the Faculty of Creative Arts, Technology and Sciences, the Faculty of Education, English and Sport, and the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences are the four faculties that make up the university.

The School of Art and Design has its own building with its own facilities; the facilities include state-of-the-art fashion equipment, a digital studio with laser cutters and 3D printers, a photographic studio and darkroom facilities, numerous workshop areas, dedicated studio spaces and open plan studios. The Luton Campus library has many resources in addition to silent-study rooms, group-work areas, presentation-practice rooms, and a café. Another building onsite is the Postgraduate and CPD Centre. It has many amenities which include lecture theatres, informal learning spaces, quiet study areas as well as a café and a large event venue.
The campus has on-site student accommodation: Fitzroy and Wenlock Courts. It offers a wide range of newly furnished en-suites and studios. These include Standard Ensuite, Deluxe Ensuite, Studio…etc. The accommodation is all-inclusive and offers flexible start dates throughout the year. It has many amenities and services which include free high-speed Wi-Fi, contents insurance, an online portal to log maintenance issues, 24/7 security, including CCTV and gated access, an on-site laundry room, large social spaces, a cinema room, a gym, and a nearby car park.
