The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is a specialist art and design university located in Canterbury, South of England. UCA has four campuses in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, and Rochester. UCA Business School for Creative Industries is the first of its kind in all of the UK. UCA offers many degrees and courses such as Pre-Degree and Foundation Studies, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Postgraduate Research, Pre-Sessional English, International Foundation, Graduate Diploma (Pre-Masters), and short courses. Pre-Degree Foundation Studies are offered in many courses such as Diploma in Art and Design, Diploma in Art, Design, and Media Practice, National Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice, Pathway for Art, Design, and Business and many more.
Undergraduate courses are available in Acting and Performance, Advertising, Animation, Architecture, Business Innovation and Management, Ceramic and Glass, Creative Arts, Creative Computing and many more. Postgraduate courses include Animation, Architecture, Professional Practice in Architecture, Ceramics, Creative Direction for Fashion, Design and Brand Management, Digital Fashion, Digital Media, Experimental Film, and many more.
Research Degrees are available in many research areas which are Fine Art, Photography, Architecture, Design, Animation, Fashion, Business, Sustainable Design, Communication Design and Crafts (Including Textiles and Ceramics), and Film, Music, Media and Performance. International Foundation courses are available in Art, Design, and Media, and Business. Graduate Diplomas are offered in Art, Design, and Media, and Business with two starting dates for students to choose from which are September and February.
UCA offers many facilities, resources and high-tec digital technologies for its students such as animation suites, TV production studios, virtual reality labs, 3D printing and laser cutting labs, dry workshops for wood and plastics, welding and casting resources, and many, many more.
UCA student accommodation is offered for all of its students in its four different campuses; private accommodation is also available. UCA student accommodation halls of residence are offered in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, and Rochester and all of these UCA student accommodations have the options of both catering or self-catering. Each bedroom in these residence halls include a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, and a chair. Rooms can be en-suite or with shared facilities. The facilities offered by these halls of residence include heating, on-site student wardens, a vacuum cleaner, a broom, a dustpan, a mop and a bucket, and Wi-Fi. Students are required to bring their own cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, towels, sheets, pillows, and duvets. All halls of residence are not smoking-friendly. UCA student accommodation in the private sector is the choice for students who didn’t manage to get a room in the halls of residence or for students who prefer to live outside of campus.
