St Giles International was founded in 1955 by Paul Lindsay and his wife Diana. Paul studied education and began his teaching career at a polytechnic in north London, where he taught English and French to fluent English speakers. With only £100 in his pocket, he rented a small room on a back street in Soho, London, and opened an English school. St Giles has grown into an international organization with six year-round centres in the UK and Canada, as well as Junior Summer Courses in the UK.
The school is situated in a historic structure that has been updated to blend the old and new together by preserving the building's historical architecture while also providing modern and well-equipped classrooms. This mix of old and new continues in the city, where you'll discover a truly modern metropolis with a dynamic international flair, a booming cultural scene, and some wonderful shopping and restaurants alongside gorgeous historic structures! Cambridge is an ideal base from which to see more of the United Kingdom, with trains to London taking about an hour.
Departments and Divisions
The Cambridge school offers a variety of English language courses in both group and one-on-one environments. The friendly mid-size school is an excellent resource for students who are new to the English language and seek more personalized attention.
