Why Study at Bournemouth University International College
Bournemouth University International College was established in September 2013 and since then it has supported more than 1200 international students from over 70 nationalities to prepare for BU degree programmes. The college is a part of Kaplan International Pathways and is operated in partnership with Bournemouth University. In 2015, the college moved to new, purpose-built premises on the University’s Lansdowne Campus, it has an ideal location within a short distance from the town centre, train station, and the beach.
Departments and Divisions
In partnership with Bournemouth University (BU), the college offers pathway courses and Pre-Sessional English programmes. It also offers a wide range of different courses: Undergraduate: Foundation Certificate; Undergraduate: International Year One; International Year One with Internship; Postgraduate: Pre-Master’s; Pre-Sessional English (PSE) courses; and Multi-Progression Pathway (MPP)
Undergraduate: Foundation Certificate
If students are done with high school but don't meet the entry requirements for university, a Foundation Certificate helps them gain entry to an undergraduate degree. Students who wish to progress to the 1st year of a bachelor’s degree at Bournemouth University (BU) can choose one of these subjects: Business, Law, or Finance; Computing; Events, Tourism, and Hospitality Management; Media and Communications; and Science.
Undergraduate: International Year One
This combines university preparation with a 1st-year degree. If students finished high school with good grades but still don’t qualify for entry to an undergraduate degree, they can study International Year One. Students who wish to progress to the 2nd year of a bachelor’s degree at Bournemouth University (BU) can choose one of these subjects: Business; Media and Communications; and Tourism and Hospitality.
International Year One with Internship
This program helps students gain valuable work experience and develop important soft skills.
Postgraduate: Pre-Master’s
A Pre-Master’s can help students gain a place on a postgraduate degree if they have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s.
