How is rent collected?Rent is automatically debited from a nominated account on a recurring basis. Residents can manage these payments, view statements, and update banking information through the CLV App. Can rent be paid in advance?Yes. Residents may choose to prepay for a semester or the full year before the contract begins. Individual fortnightly payments can also be made early; if the account is in credit, the automatic debit will not occur. How often is rent charged?The standard cycle is fortnightly, though Student Village Melbourne operates on a monthly cycle. While most payments are for a set amount, the first and final payments of the contract may differ. What happens if a payment is missed or late?If a payment fails due to a lack of funds, a $20 penalty is charged, and the resident will receive a formal breach notice. How are refunds handled?If the cancellation occurs before move-in, the security deposit and most upfront fees are returned.
