New QS report shows that London is the best city in the world for students. This is the second year in a row for the vibrant city to take the lead.

London is still maintaining its power spot since last year as the top destination in the world for students. It’s definitely great news for international students studying in London. The official rankings from the 2019 QS Best Student Cities are released, showing the capital of England winning the competition yet again. The UK’s largest city is closely followed by Tokyo, Melbourne, Munich, and Berlin.

The QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) is an international education consulting firm that produces this report every year. The QS report takes into consideration six different categories:

1- The overall number of the world’s top-ranking universities.

2- The student population.

3- The overall quality of life the student will be living.

4- The availability of job opportunities after students graduate.

5- How affordable the city is to live in.

6- Feedback from students currently living in the city.

Over 50,000 students from all across the world have participated to produce this report. Although London didn’t excel in terms of affordability, it excelled in all the other categories.

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed his delight regarding the news: “The fact that London has again been ranked the best city in the world in which to be a student is fantastic news – and is no surprise given that London is home to world-leading higher education institutions and a vibrant cultural life." Mayor Khan is campaigning to provide international students suitable offers on visas.
