Why Study at Baptist University of The Americas?

Baptist University of The Americas is a small Christian college in San Antonio, Texas that was founded in 1947. As a small university, BUA celebrates an enrolment rate of around 180 students per year, both locally from across different states in the US and globally from around 18 different countries worldwide. One of Baptist University of The Americas’ main goals is to have students graduate without debt. This is why it provides students with financial aid and is considered four to six times more affordable than other private universities in the country. Baptist University of the Americas is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) to award degrees at the associate and baccalaureate levels. Baptist University of the Americas has also been ranked among the 100 most affordable small colleges west of the Mississippi for 2021 by the Great Value Colleges. At BUA, students are mainly offered a full four-year programme of study, a superb personal scholastic environment, an outstanding faculty, affordable tuition, and a full range of scholarships and financial assistance.

Departments and Divisions

Baptist University of The Americas is an accredited learning institution for Biblical Higher Education. The university mainly aims to offer education to those interested in pursuing degrees in Biblical and Theological studies. Students at BUA can apply to get their Bachelor's degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. This bachelor's degree will put students in a position to broaden their training and ministry impact and allow them to implement their theoretical education in a practical, real-world setting.

Facilities and Resources

Baptist University of The Americas provides its students with the basic facilities and resources they need to excel in both their academic and social lives. Students enjoy a campus environment where they can study, dine together, participate in intramural sports, share in classroom instruction and dialogue, and engage in daily fellowship with other students, faculty, and staff. There are also missions students can go on and ministries they can join.

Missions

The Missions programme at Baptist University of The Americas seeks to provide students with opportunities to meet the physical and spiritual needs of others and help them through practical learning experiences that teach servant leadership and a personal commitment to missions. These missions include a summer programme composed of a mobile team of students from Baptist University of the Americas that travels across Texas and beyond to partner with pastors and leaders with limited resources and offer help and guidance to those in need.

Ministries

There are a couple of student-led ministries that students can join during their study period at BUA. Agape Ministries is an on-campus student-led ministry made up of volunteers to help other students. The facility is located in the student residential area and provides items such as food and toiletries for the student body and their families. The other available ministry is The Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) at BUA, which exists to help students grow in their relationship with God and each other, serve God and other  students, and connect students within the community.
