Why study at Clemson Visual Arts?

Clemson, South Carolina, has a public research university, Clemson University. The second-largest university in terms of student enrolment in South Carolina is Clemson, which was founded in 1889. The university had a total of 20,195 undergraduate students and 5,627 graduate students enrolled for the fall 2019 semester, and the student-to-faculty ratio was 18:1. The 1,400-acre campus of Clemson University is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains foothills. Lake Hartwell, created by the dam finished in 1962, now abuts the campus. The nearby 17,500-acre Clemson Experimental Forest, which is used for research, instruction, and recreation, is managed by the university. Clemson University has several colleges linked to the main campus; Clemson Visual Arts is one of these respected universities and is considered one of the top in its field.

Clemson University now has a total undergraduate enrolment of 21,653 students (fall 2021), a suburban setting, and a 17,000-acre campus. The academic year is divided into semesters. In the Best Colleges 2022-2023 edition, the university is ranked #77 among National Universities. According to GraduatePrograms.com, Clemson University's MFA (Master of Fine Arts) programme ranks 12th among public institutions as one of the nation's leading "Top Art Schools."

GraduatePrograms.com gives each graduate programme at each graduate school one of 15 ranking categories. A variety of student topics, including academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid, and network quality, are covered in the rankings based on student evaluations.

Departments and Divisions

"The Department of Art and the Center for Visual Arts at Clemson University is seen as one of the leading collaborators on campus because our students intersect with all five colleges and will be working with the athletic department in the future through our public art programme," says Greg Shelnutt, Chair of the Department of Art. "Through engagement with fields other than the arts, such as technology, science, maths, and business, students can experience a well-rounded, real-world approach to learning."
