Location

Do I need to pay a deposit to secure my room? Yes. A £150 holding deposit is required at the time of booking. Once your tenancy begins, this amount converts into your security deposit. Is the deposit refundable? Yes. Your security deposit is refundable at the end of your tenancy, subject to a final inspection and provided there are no outstanding rent arrears or damages to the room or communal areas. How is my deposit protected? Your deposit is protected by an approved tenancy deposit scheme. Deposits are registered with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) in England and Wales and MyDeposits Scotland in Scotland. When will I receive my deposit refund? After the final inspection, your deposit will be returned within 10 working days, provided there are no deductions for unpaid rent or damages. Can I pay my rent in instalments? Yes. You can either pay your rent in full or in 4 instalments. Payment amounts and due dates will be confirmed in your booking confirmation email. Do I need a guarantor to pay in instalments? Yes. Students choosing the 4-instalment payment option must provide a qualified UK guarantor. What if I don't have a UK guarantor? If you cannot provide a UK guarantor, you may be able to use a third-party guarantor service such as Housing Hand, subject to their terms and approval. Do I need a guarantor if I pay my rent in full? No. A guarantor is only required if you choose to pay your rent in instalments. What payment methods are accepted?Rent payments can be made via Recurring Card Payment, Direct Debit, or Bank Transfer through the resident portal. Can I pay by cash or cheque?No. Cash and cheque payments are not accepted. How can I change my payment method?If you would like to change your payment method, please contact the accommodation team for assistance.

Payment Terms

<ol><li dir="ltr">Holding Deposit&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">You’ll pay a holding deposit once you book your room. This is to secure your room.&nbsp;</li></ol><ul><li dir="ltr">It's important to note that the holding deposit is non-refundable if the tenancy agreement is not signed within a strict&nbsp;14-day period.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">Once you sign your tenancy agreement, the holding deposit becomes a refundable security deposit. You’ll get it back after your tenancy is over if there’s no damage done to the room or the communal areas.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">&nbsp;By paying your holding deposit, you give full consent to use the details that you’ve provided to conduct a search against the sanction list in any chosen country. Note: You've got the right to prohibit any kind of search, but the provider won’t be able to proceed with your application.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">You can pay rent upfront or in instalments&nbsp;(with a UK guarantor)&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">Relevant checks will be made to confirm your place at your university, and then you’ll receive an online offer with the tenancy agreement through the Student Portal online.</li><li dir="ltr">You’ll get a full refund on the holding deposit if the provider can’t offer you a room or a suitable alternative.&nbsp;</li></ul><ol start="3"><li dir="ltr">Cancellation within the cooling-off period</li></ol><ul><li dir="ltr">You can cancel within 14 days of receiving the accommodation offer and get a full refund of the holding deposit.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">You generally lose your holding deposit if you cancel after the cooling-off period.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">Exception: You can get out of the tenancy agreement even after your cooling-off period if: &nbsp;</li></ul><ol><li dir="ltr">You’re a first-year undergraduate student who didn't get accepted to your chosen university or got accepted to a different one (with proof).</li><li dir="ltr">You couldn’t get a UK visa (with proof)&nbsp;</li></ol><ul><li dir="ltr">You might be released from the tenancy agreement and get some rent refunded (minus the holding deposit), if you find someone to replace you.&nbsp;</li></ul><ol start="4"><li dir="ltr">Period before you enter your tenancy agreement</li></ol>CRM Students have the right to return your holding deposit and cancel your booking if any of the following occurs:&nbsp;<ul><li dir="ltr">Provide any misleading information</li><li dir="ltr">If you fail to complete your application or provide grantor details and supporting documentation within a reasonable time.</li></ul><ol start="5"><li dir="ltr">Cancellation after moving in&nbsp;</li></ol>It’s hard to leave during your contract term; there are some alternative options, including:&nbsp;<ul><li dir="ltr">Find a replacement tenant who can take over your contract and who meets the specific criteria (age, student status, guarantor).&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">You’ll still pay a £50 administration fee, even if you find a replacement.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">If you still can’t find a replacement, you’re responsible for the full rent payment until the end of your contract.</li></ul><ol start="6"><li dir="ltr">Cancellation by CRM Students or the landlords</li></ol><ul><li dir="ltr">Your booking will be cancelled if you fail to do the following:&nbsp;</li></ul>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 1. Fail to sign the tenancy agreement within 14 days of receiving the offer (outside the cooling-off period).&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;2. If you didn’t check in on your start date (outside the cooling-off period). &nbsp;<ul><li dir="ltr">Once you sign your tenancy agreement, it can only be terminated by mutual agreement or under specific circumstances.&nbsp;</li></ul><ol start="7"><li dir="ltr">Room and tenancy changes&nbsp;</li></ol><ul><li dir="ltr">You can extend your tenancy before the start date (subject to availability). However, you can’t shorten your stay.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">&nbsp;You can change your start date if you want.&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">If you wish to upgrade your room or move to a different room type that is the same type as the original, you can do so for free before your start date (subject to availability).&nbsp;</li><li dir="ltr">Room swaps after the start date cost £50.</li></ul>

This place is not the best but not the worst either as some reviews exaggerate, lol. Some people have this attitude that noone can ever please so please don’t mind them. Plus hiding behind fake profiles says a lot. Stick to the positives is how I tackle life’s challenges. It’s like a marriage, if you can’t hack it pack up and move on.

My positives about this accomodation:

1) It’s walking distance from everywhere.
2) The live-in staff will actually listen to you and interact with you even after hours if you are going through things.
3) Unlike the other fancier accomodation I transferred from, I do not need to wait 72hrs to be granted visitation.
4) People are cordial and if there’s a noise pollution or intruder you can always count on live-in staff and night security to assist. This only happened twice duration of my stay here.
5) When viewing I noticed that each room has its own kitchen and bathroom. My last had shared ablutions and a kitchen between 10 of us. I love having my own fridge and cooking area and bathroom as not everyone is last shared with we’re tidy and clean.

As a Coventry restaurant part-time worker I find that people will never put good reviews of their experiences but you mess up once and that’s when they’ll dust up there blogs and google reviews. That’s why when I see bad reviews I prefer to experience it myself because some people just exaggerate and are miserable to begin with.

Thank you Mercia staff for looking after me when I first moved in. As it is said in Korea…. “gamsahabnida” (thank you) ??.
