What payment options are available for my accommodation?
Payment options may vary depending on the property and tenancy agreement. Students can usually choose to either pay their rent in full upfront or in instalments.

Can I pay my rent in instalments?
Yes. Many Yugo Australia properties offer instalment payment plans; however, availability depends on the property and the length of your tenancy agreement.

When are rent payments due?
Rent payment dates are outlined in your individual tenancy agreement after booking. Payment schedules may vary between properties and contracts.

Is a deposit required to secure my booking?
Yes. A booking deposit, typically equal to 2 weeks’ rent, is usually required to secure your room.

Will my booking deposit be refunded?
The booking deposit is generally deducted from your first rent payment rather than refunded separately.

Do I need to pay a security bond?
Yes. Students are usually required to pay a security bond equivalent to 4 weeks’ rent before check-in.

What is the security bond used for?
The security bond is held to cover potential damages, unpaid rent, or other tenancy-related charges. It is refundable at the end of your tenancy, subject to a final inspection and the terms of your agreement.

How can I pay for my accommodation?
Payments are typically made through the student portal.

What payment methods are accepted?
Accepted payment methods may vary by property but commonly include:

Are utility bills included in the rent?
Yes. Utilities are generally included in the rent, including electricity, water, and Wi-Fi/internet access.

Are there any additional costs not included in the rent?
Some optional or additional services may not be included, such as laundry facilities and parking charges, where applicable.

Do I need a guarantor to pay in instalments?
In many cases, yes. A guarantor may be required for students choosing an instalment payment plan.

What happens if I cannot provide a guarantor?
If a guarantor cannot be provided, students may be required to pay their rent in full upfront, depending on the property’s policy.

Does every Yugo Australia property follow the same payment schedule?
No. Payment schedules and instalment structures are not standardised across all Yugo Australia properties. Exact payment terms are set out in the tenancy agreement and managed through the student portal after booking.

Can I cancel my booking before the agreement start date?
Yes. You can cancel your tenancy agreement without penalty if you provide written notice to the property at least 30 days before your agreement start date.

What happens if I cancel less than 30 days before my agreement starts?
If you cancel less than 30 days before the agreement start date, a break lease fee equal to 2 weeks’ rent will apply.

Can I cancel my booking if my Australian student visa is refused?
Yes. If your visa application is refused, you may request to cancel your booking without penalty by notifying the property in writing at least 7 days before your agreement start date and providing sufficient supporting evidence. Cancellation requests are subject to review and approval by the property manager. 

What documents do I need to provide if my visa is refused?
You must provide a written refusal notice from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), along with a copy of the official visa refusal letter. The property manager will review your request and confirm whether the cancellation has been approved.

Will I receive a refund if my visa is refused?
Payments made to date may either be refunded or transferred to a future booking, subject to approval under the policy. Advance rent paid as part of the deposit is typically refunded within 14-28 days, while bond refund timelines depend on the relevant state authority. 

Can I cancel my booking if I do not receive a placement at my university?
Yes. If you are not accepted into your university or institution, you may request a cancellation without penalty by submitting written notice and supporting documentation to the property. Requests are subject to review under the cancellation policy. 

How soon do I need to notify the property if I do not receive a placement offer?
You must notify the property within 72 hours of receiving confirmation that your application was unsuccessful.

What evidence is required if I do not receive a placement?
You will need to provide supporting documentation from the relevant tertiary admissions centre or institution confirming that you were not accepted.

Can I defer my booking if my visa arrives late or borders close?
If Australia closes its international borders, you may request to cancel your booking without penalty by notifying the property in writing at least 30 days before your agreement start date and providing sufficient supporting evidence.

Will the rent stay the same if I defer my booking?
Not necessarily. Deferred bookings may be subject to updated semester pricing, and the new rental rate will match the advertised price for that semester.

Can I cancel my booking due to Australian border closures?
Yes. If Australia closes its international borders, you can cancel your booking without penalty by notifying the property in writing at least 30 days before your agreement start date and providing sufficient evidence.

What happens to my payments if I cancel because of border closures?
Your payments can either be refunded or transferred to a future booking, and your current agreement will be cancelled.

Can I keep my booking while waiting for borders to reopen?
Yes. You may choose to continue your agreement while waiting for borders to reopen, but you will remain responsible for all ongoing obligations under the tenancy agreement.
