School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA) is the city’s first national pre-tertiary specialised arts school. It has six-year integrated art and academic curriculum for youths aged 13-18 years old. Departments and Divisions
The SOTA six-year course culminates in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP). SOTA’s IBDP qualification is recognised by top universities worldwide. In Years 5 and 6, IBDP students are required to offer the three IBDP core subjects (Theory Of Knowledge, Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service), three subjects at Higher Level (which includes an Arts subject) and three subjects at Standard Level. Also, SOTA offers a specialised arts curriculum in Years 5 and 6 under the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP). It offers specialised training in dance, film, literary arts, music, theatre, and visual arts. Each course is designed to develop students to attain understanding, expression, and mastery in their art form.
