German Institute of Science & Technology Singapore or TUM Asia is an institute for research and education located in Singapore, formed in 2002 as the Asian campus of the Technical University of Munich. Technical University of Munich (TUM) Asia was set up under the Singapore government’s Global Schoolhouse Initiative. It is one of the most well-known universities in the region that offers courses in engineering, chemistry, electronics, and many more to mention. GIST-TUM Asia then partnered Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to offer Bachelor of Science programmes in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Chemical Engineering in 2010. In 2020, TUM deepened its partnership with SIT and changed the Electrical Engineering Program and Chemical Engineering Program into 4 years, Bachelor of Engineering, with Honours.

GIST-TUM Asia offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. As for the undergraduate programmes, the university offers BSc in Chemical Engineering, BSc in Electrical Engineering, and multiple scholarships. In March 2015, TUM Asia moved into our new campus location at the SIT@SP building which measures over 20,000 square metres. The building is fully equipped with high-quality facilities for every student to achieve his/her best. There are plenty of classrooms and laboratories. Staff and students also have access to a wide range of facilities such as lecture theatres, project meeting rooms, student and staff lounges, and more. Besides, students at TUM Asia have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities on and off-campus. Many of these activities are student-initiated or student-led by your peers or college peers from the partner universities. These activities include festivals, sports contests, book fairs, career fairs, and many more. There are also a lot of clubs and organisations available.
