Known for its local beaches and action sports, Coffs Harbour is a young city located in New South Wales, approximately six hours drive to Sydney and a 5-hour drive to Brisbane. The city houses Coffs Harbour Airport which hosts regular daily flights to and from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. In 2016, the population of the city was 72,941 with more than 13% of the residents born overseas. During the 1980s, Coffs Harbour economy mainly depended on Bananas; however, the crop was later challenged by Blueberries and later on tourism, action sports and fishing represented the main economic pillars of the city.
