IDP to Introduce AI-Powered English Language Test

IDP has introduced a ground-breaking online English language test, Envoy, aiming to provide an enhanced and enjoyable learning experience for both students and English language educators.

Developed by linguistics experts and driven by AI, the Envoy test is globally accessible and assesses all four language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—in a concise 90-minute timeframe. 

Results, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), are swiftly available within two hours. 

Leveraging decades of experience in global education, IDP combines its insights with advanced AI technology to offer students a genuine assessment of their English skills. Envoy features open-ended questions designed to evaluate language and communication skills in real-life contexts.

This flexible test can be utilised at various stages of a student's English language journey, supporting programme entry diagnostics, progress checks, and overall proficiency assessments. Moreover, teachers can customise lesson plans to individual student needs, fostering ongoing improvement in English proficiency and confidence.
