If the student exceeds this sum, they will be prone to paying extra charges.*The building offers flexible bookings in the case of autumn 2020 term dates are pushed back due to COVID-19; you will be credited for the weeks not required from the start of your tenancy.*If you book a room and choose to pay by instalments, your second payment can be split into two; one on the original payment due date and the second within 7 days of your start date.*The building has a "No Visa No Pay" policy; if you can't get visa approval and no longer need your room, you can cancel for free.* If you are unable to travel to the UK due to Government travel restrictions, and no longer require the room, you won’t be charged.*If you don't get the grades needed for university and no longer require the room, you won't pay; provided you present a rejection letter.

What are the payment options?For most room types and contract durations, we offer two payment options:Full contract payment: You pay for the full duration of the accommodation in one payment at thetime of booking. Some of our locations will offer you the option of splitting the payment bymaking an advanced rent payment on booking, this is usually £200 which is deducted from thetotal payment which is due on the 1st August.NB: If you book a room after the 1st August you will need to make the full payment at the time ofbooking.Instalment plan: The full value of the contract is broken down into several payments spreadthroughout the duration of your contract. You will need to make an advanced rent paymentwhen you book of £200 which is deducted from your second rent instalment.Please note: To be eligible for an instalment plan you will need a Guarantor.NB: If you book a room after the 1st August you will need to pay the advanced rent and firstinstalment payments at the time of booking – a full instalment breakdown is shown once youselect book now and start the booking process.Do I pay a deposit/booking fee?We don’t take a deposit or charge you a booking fee when you book with Host. We take aninitial rent payment; this is not a deposit it is a payment made on booking which forms part ofyour total rental amount.When do I pay my rent?If you select an instalment plan for the 2026/27 academic year on a 51/45/44/43 week contractyour rent is due on the following dates:Advanced rent: on booking1st instalment: 1st August 20262nd instalment: 28th September 20263rd instalment: 13th January 20274th instalment: 14th April 2027

Payment Terms

Before Signing the Tenancy Agreement<ul style=""><li dir="ltr">If written cancellation is received within 7 days of the application and before the booking confirmation email, the booking is cancelled at no charge, and the advance rent is fully refunded.</li><li dir="ltr">If the tenancy agreement is not completed within 7 days, the landlord may retain the advance rent if either party cancels the booking</li></ul>After Signing the Tenancy Agreement (Before Tenancy Start)<ul style=""><li dir="ltr">If cancellation is requested within 72 hours of the booking confirmation email, no fee applies, and the advance rent is fully refunded.</li><li dir="ltr">If cancellation occurs after 72 hours, the tenancy cannot be cancelled unless a replacement tenant is found.</li></ul>After the Tenancy Start Date<ul style=""><li dir="ltr">Cancellation is only accepted once a replacement tenant takes over the room.</li><li dir="ltr">The tenant remains liable for rent and charges until the new tenancy begins.</li><li dir="ltr">Once a replacement tenant signs and receives booking confirmation, any payments made (including advance rent) will be refunded minus rent owed up to the takeover date.</li></ul>Additional Conditions<ul style=""><li dir="ltr">If rent due before move-in is not paid, the landlord may cancel the tenancy and retain the advance rent.</li><li dir="ltr">If the landlord cancels the booking before move-in due to circumstances beyond their control, all payments will be refunded.</li><li dir="ltr">Bookings obtained using false or misleading information may be cancelled.</li></ul>The above cancellation policy is a synopsis of the property’s cancellation policy. There could be a few changes incorporated from time to time. Hence, we recommend you review the full accommodation contract for a comprehensive understanding of their cancellation policies.

Frobisher House

Staff are extremely nice and responsive. My room and kitchen was really nice too with good internet speed.
Only problem I had was the sofa in the kitchen being uncomfortable.

Actually quite nice for student accommodation. I guess people have higher expectations than they did in the 80s! Very nice en suite shower room and toilet. The kitchen area was really nice, a large social space with 2 triple sofas, big tables and a tv on the wall. Loses a star for the room being a lot smaller than expected despite being a double and premium.

Couldn't find laundry service! ? The room and kitchen were pritty good! ?

Really high quality student accommodation. By far the best Halls offered by the University of Plymouth!
