Would not recommend at all. Find somewhere else, The shield is better and staff are friendlier and more helpful

A good place to live if you enjoy a social life and meeting new people, the housekeep Sam and Maintenance man Don are great people and make you feel welcome. There are improvements to be made with the management, especially if you are looking for a place to stay where the manager doesn’t look you up and down when you walk through the lobby, along with only being interested in things that make them look better to the company heads.

I have stayed in 3 different student halls before, this is the first private halls I have lived in and it is the dirtiest and most poorly managed. I have been paying £175 a week for a studio and I am not being dramatic when I say it has probably only been cleaned twice. The facilities are rancid, the view from my window is littered with rubbish that has been there since October 2020. On multiple occasions I have seen the cleaner (who with peace and love spends most of her time on her phone at the reception) look at the piles of rubbish or overflowing ashtrays outside and simply ignore walk past. The code panel which is used to enter into the complex is filthy and I doubt has been cleaned at all which is quite shocking considering close to hundreds of people use it daily during a viral pandemic. I should have wrote a review earlier considering a lot of people will be tied into contracts here but if you are reading this review and are considering living here all I can advise you is please do not. The other two nido complexes in Newcastle (union square and the bridge) are well kept and clean so I would recommend checking those out.

I lived here 2018-2020. The building itself is in a great location and many of the flats have great views. The rooms are a decent size and the en suites are nice. The accommodation is in a triangle shape, and rooms on the inside of the triangle face inwards, and so it lacks privacy. It’s worth paying more for a balcony room, especially if it’s facing the park at the back. I asked for a floor plan when I moved in to make sure I knew which way my room was facing. The building is poorly managed, and the staff can be unapproachable. They dealt with COVID very well, though. I had maintenance issues that were never resolved throughout the year. There are definitely worse places to live, and Stepney is definitely nicer than nearby accommodations up the road. When I stayed here it was cheaper than some of the more luxury accommodations, but it does lack the quality. If you can afford it, there is nicer student accommodations in Jesmond and Sandyford.

Postgrad student who has lived in many halls style of residence. By far the worst accomodation I've lived in, due to poor management and customer service.
