My son is staying here for university and he likes it a lot. 4 Ensuite rooms with a shared living room with sofas and kitchen which has fridges and freezers included. Secure entry and night security with cctv so we feel reassured that he is safe. I thought the furniture was grubby and very dated but its not me staying there.

False fire alarm is a norm at The Hub, with an average of 5 or more times happening per week, randomly occurring in the middle of the night at 2-4am etc and last up to 30mins each time. But this incident on 18/10/2020 is ridiculous! Fire alarm started ringing from 12.30am and lasted till almost 4am, yet nobody from the management bothered to or is able to do anything about it. The ringing of fire alarm at every corner of the accommodation is so loud and piercing to the ear and imagine being exposed to it for continuous 3+ hours? Furthermore, this is not an once off incident. Exposing tenants to such hazard is putting them at high risk of getting tinnitus and who is going to be responsible for that? This accommodation is filled with students, which many of them are working part time too. Imagine how such experience will negatively affect and disrupt their life in juggling between studies and work. Imagine how badly these students will be affected if they are having exam on the next morning. And in this new era of online classes and exam, how are the students going to attend online classes and exam with such false alarm ringing at the background for hours?! What we tenants expect out of this terrible weekend is simply an apology and a proper explanation, yet what we get is an email filled with excuses and blaming tenants for tampering fire detectors. They claimed that there is no fault in the fire system, and if that is true, why will there be such frequent incidents of false fire alarm? All these false fire alarms are far more likely to be the main culprit for putting tenants' lives at risk instead of those tampered detectors because in the event of a real fire, nobody will believe its real. Overall, we are definitely disappointed by the way the management is handling the situation. Even though majority of the tenants are young students, this does not give the management the right to bully and treat us as idiots, because ultimately, we are the ones paying and they should be doing what they are being paid for - to provide a safe and conducive environment.

A very bad experience in Dundee, even though it is a very good location to the uni and town. 1. False fire alarm goes off constantly and last for at least 20 mins every time. 2. The speed of maintenance is very slow, even though they promised that maintenance will attend on the same day but they consequently came on the next day. Also, not all the maintenance issues are included and that causing a very high price as they are calling external specialist to come over. 3. The lift are always dirty and smells bad, no one are coming through to clean that. 4. The prices for laundry is ridiculously high, clothes washing: £3.20 each time and £1.70 for drying each time (FYI Seabraes Flats cost £2.20 per wash and £1 per dry). Also the machines are dirty as well. 5. During Covid time, students are not be able to travel back and the uni provide online teaching, causing students are not moving in. However, students could not have a refund of the rent even though they are not living in the accommodation. In conclusion, it is a very bad experience in my uni life and I shouldn't have book this accommodation.
