The location is excellent, with the university, shops, restaurants and other amenities all nearby. The accommodation is modern, clean, comfortable and well maintained, with good communal areas and a secure environment that gives you peace of mind. The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable, and there’s a great balance between having your own privacy and being able to socialise with other students. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Roman House to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable and welcoming place to start university life. The room was well kept, clean and neat, and all the facilities, including the oven, stove and washroom, were working properly throughout my stay. Any minor issues, such as with the TV, were resolved very quickly, which I really appreciated.

The reception staff and warden were extremely kind, approachable and helpful. Since I was new to Derby, they were always willing to help with any questions, sort out issues promptly, and provide useful information about the area. Overall, Roman House was a comfortable, convenient and well-managed accommodation, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for student or short-term accommodation in Derby.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a-/ALV-UjUJ1kKwotAe0eEWkBKwXZyT1xbc-EKQS9GUEgp-oZmvNjC7A2MqWw=s128-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo
5
I absolutely love staying at Roman House, Derby! The staff here are so helpful, friendly, and always willing to support whenever needed. The room is really cozy and comfortable, which made it feel like home from the start. I booked a studio plus (for 44 weeks) and have been very impressed with the cleanliness of my apartment and the facilities offered both in room and in the apartment complex. The studio plus comes equipped with a kitchen (combination microwave instead of oven), ensuite, desk and TV along with lots of storage space for all your belongings. The room is very spacious and the bed is pretty comfortable and all bills are included (except TV license and laundry). The apartment complex comes fit with a reception area, common room, study spaces, cinema room, small gym (for basic workouts), and laundry room that uses circuit laundry (prices are a bit steep here). The building is suitably located close to the centre of Derby with a Lidl in walking distance (5 mins), and nearby to the university buildings. Kedleston Road Campus is a little far (25 mins walk), but is easily accessible via the free Unibus which has a stop very close by. There is no onsite parking so if you are planning on using a car you will need to get a season ticket for parking nearby or park in a NCP car park. The onsite staff are very friendly and helpful, having been able to assist with any of my questions or queries. Dave, the maintenance operative is efficient in fixing anything broken in the rooms or facilities and the cleaning staff make sure the building is immaculate at all times. Shoutout to Jacki: the accommodation manager who is lovely, knowledgeable and always able to help when she can.
Overall, a great, comfortable living space for students looking for a bit more independence!

Derby is located in the county of Derbyshire on the banks of the River Derwent. It has a rich history dating back to the Romans. The city derives its name from the Viking word “Djúra-bý” meaning "village of the deer".

The residence is perfectly-situated because it is only a seven-minute walk from Derby city centre. It is in the heart of life and vibrance. It is surrounded by many exciting locations and entertainment venues. It also has many great nearby eatery spots. You may grab breakfast before your busy day ahead at HIDE Burger Bar and Bistro just a short walking distance from the building. It serves delicious breakfast meals in addition to creative burgers if you want to grab a quick bite in an airy and easygoing space. Another nearby restaurant is Dolce Salato Italian Restaurant which offers Italian classics in a laidback cosy setting. Bistrot Pierre is another nearby diner offering regional French dishes in a lively atmosphere.

When you need to go grocery shopping, Tesco Express is just four minutes away and it has various products at good prices to cater to your needs. After your long day on campus, we suggest you take a refreshing walk by the river at Derby River Gardens. It is a spacious park with green fields, walking trails, and lovely scenery that’ll put your mind to ease. During the weekend, you may go on a shopping spree at Derbion shopping centre which has many shops and boutiques. It also has a cinema if you want to have a night out with your friends and watch the latest box office movies. Another thing you can do on the weekend is to visit the Derby Museum & Art Gallery where you can explore collections on regional, natural, and military history plus fine art exhibits.
