He is quite prompt with sending out emails if needed, and is chatty and friendly.

a lot of events and free stuff, particularly the fruit fridays, free breakfast items and the coffee machine. i don’t know of a lot of accomodation that offer stuff like this on a regular basis, and I think for how much we pay it’s really nice that it is. events are quite regular too, different ones every week.

the rooms themselves are really nice, but as someone stated there is no soundproofing, even from other floors. The en suite rooms themselves were clean when I arrived but the kitchen was absolutely covered in cobwebs (like seemingly really old cobwebs), and massive spiders here and there. My room also has a lot of cobwebs and spiders but not to the extent of the kitchen and I managed those as soon as possible.

Really, the cons are more to do with housemates which isn’t really in the accomodation’s control. Multiple times i had to report food theft and housemates using my things, and nothing stopped until I had to use my own money to buy lockboxes for the fridge and freezer, and move all my stuff into my bedroom. Robbie the receptionist had tried his best with emails and even printed out warnings, but eventually had to deal with it myself. This has ruined the experience of otherwise a really lovely accommodation. I’m in my last year and it has definitely been one of my favourites I’ve stayed in, ignoring the theft.

I will add, the shower gets really cold at random times. Leaving it to run for a while doesn’t make it warmer so I sometimes end up with cold showers. The shower head itself came covered in mold, I think? I’m not even too sure but theres black spots on it. It was announced at one point during the year that something was being done to them but I’ve no clue if they actually did as I came back to exactly the same thing.

Sunderland is a port city in Northern England. It is considered the best place for those under their 30s to live, and its residents are some of the happiest in the UK. Over the centuries, Sunderland grew as a port, trading coal and salt and was once famously hailed as the "Largest Shipbuilding Town in the World". Ships were built on the Wear from at least 1346 onwards, and by the mid-eighteenth century, Sunderland was one of the chief shipbuilding towns in the country. Students, both local and international, choose to stay in Sutherland because of its top-ranked universities and world-renowned institutions. This Sunderland student accommodation is located in the heart of the city.

Where can I find the full termination policy?
It is available in the booking section and on the documents page. You must read and understand it before confirming your booking.

Can I cancel within the initial period?
Yes. You may cancel within 7 days of accepting the offer or paying the deposit (whichever occurs first), provided you have not moved into the property. If eligible, your security deposit will be refunded in full.

How long does it take to receive the deposit refund?
Refunds are normally processed within 28 working days of cancellation. If the deposit has already been secured with a third-party protection scheme, the refund may take up to 60 days due to the scheme’s processing time. In this case, the refund will be issued directly by the scheme and may require a repayment reference provided by them. The landlord cannot influence or speed up this process. Deposits are legally required to be protected in a third-party scheme.

What happens if I cancel after the 7-day initial period?
You remain liable for rent on a weekly basis, including any part-week, until the room is re-let.

When will I be released from the agreement after late cancellation?
You will only be released once the room has been successfully re-let and any required release payment or fees have been paid.
