Edinburgh is one of the student-friendly cities in the UK, and naturally revolves around student life, especially in the central areas where most university buildings, libraries, and student housing are located. Areas like Marchmont, Newington, and Bruntsfield are popular with students from the University of Edinburgh, and you can usually get to lectures, cafés, or study spots on foot without needing long commutes.

Edinburgh is also a city where student life feels easy to settle into. The Meadows acts as a major social hub, especially in warmer months, where students hang out, study, or meet friends between classes. Cafés around Southside and Nicolson Street are consistently filled with students working or revising, which makes it feel very normal to study outside your accommodation.
