He goes above and beyond. However, on arrival I was dubious that my room and en-suite ever had a thorough end-of-tenancy clean between the previous person leaving and myself moving in. I was further dismayed to see the state of the loo that is attached to the kitchen on the ground floor of our townhouse. It had clearly never been cleaned by the previous tenants and ignored over summer when the cleaners did the kitchen (which was spotless) and hence was in an unusable state and still is. Facility wise - the cinema room is fabulous and the gym is great for a workout. Laundry is Circuit and the machines are well maintained and always clean. However, the thin partition walls between bedrooms can be seen as an issue. Noise travels and yes that is a fact of life, but you trying to get a decent nights sleep is unfortunately up to the discretion of your neighbour.","time":"1675179887","created_at":"2026-05-05 11:27:13","updated_at":"2026-05-05 11:27:13","deleted_at":null,"deleted_by":null},{"id":10411,"build_id":"420110","author_name":"Priya Lakshmi","author_url":"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/contrib\/112613330107005387914\/reviews","language":"en","profile_photo_url":"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/a-\/ALV-UjWygx0Ijk__8Dsw0aCXnhRI9PIW9IQ7-nhCZSEp91Jax8e3X8z7=s128-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo-ba2","rating":"5","relative_time_description":"5 years ago","text":"Extremely nice apartment, good rooms, cinema, gym, lounge and kitchen. The building is only one year old as it was just completed in the summer of 2018, so the facilities are in excellent condition. It has some wonderful features, including a small but well-equipped fitness center, a lounge, and a cinema. Its location is very good, within a short bus ride of the University and within a short walk to the city centre.\n\nDanii, the building manager, and Harvey, the head of maintenance, are absolute stars. They are friendly and warm and always take care of issues promptly.\n\nAs I was living in a corner studio on the top floor and had a considerate neighbor, I didn't experience much noise, but I know that other residents had a terrible time with noisy neighbors.\n\nMy biggest criticism of Percy's Place is the way fire safety is handled. I was woken at about 1:30 am on a Sunday morning by the fire alarm. I evacuated my room and exited the building with the other residents. No one from Hello Student responded to the alarm. When one of the residents called the after-hours number at the reception desk, the person on the other end of the phone was incredibly unhelpful and rude, telling us that we would have to wait for Hello Student's private security personnel to respond. The alarm went off continuously for two hours, and no one responded. Had there been an actual fire in the building, it would have burned to the ground.","time":"1570119502","created_at":"2026-05-05 11:27:13","updated_at":"2026-05-05 11:27:13","deleted_at":null,"deleted_by":null},{"id":10412,"build_id":"420110","author_name":"Holly Rogers","author_url":"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/contrib\/102762772811969765555\/reviews","language":"en","profile_photo_url":"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/a\/ACg8ocIAYU_nVkqXnWxbjHJpS7F8uAYfvkLOscvfC6pqK0ITzaVID7s=s128-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo","rating":"5","relative_time_description":"7 years ago","text":"I have been living in my classic studio at Percy's Place for nearly 2 months now, and I love it! The room is really spacious, there is plenty of storage space and the shower in the en-suite is big for student accommodation. The room is also very modern and the on-site facilities are brilliant. Additionally it is a new build this year so everything is in very good condition. The manager Bev is lovely and very helpful which is a big plus when you're away from home and living by yourself for the first time.","time":"1541504856","created_at":"2026-05-05 11:27:13","updated_at":"2026-05-05 11:27:13","deleted_at":null,"deleted_by":null},{"id":10413,"build_id":"420110","author_name":"milena stylla","author_url":"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/contrib\/118356035937943635176\/reviews","language":"en","profile_photo_url":"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/a-\/ALV-UjVYi4z8iG92u5YGhDDfQ8Y0LbtyX34T7Bg6im4zzug0g2tmKbHB=s128-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo","rating":"5","relative_time_description":"7 years ago","text":"Percys Place is a great accommodation for students as it is close enough to the university of York and York st John as well whilst there is a bus stop 2 minutes away from the accommodation. It is a brand new accommodation that started functioning this year and its furniture and rooms in total are very modern and aesthetic! There are rooms for all preferences such as classic studios, classic plus and premiere studios (it depends on how many people want to live together). There are also flats starting from 3 rooms with shared kitchen and lounge so that you can stay with your best friends in uni. As for the facilities, there is a well equipped gym, studying area (really important if you don't have time to visit the library) and cinema, an amazing place to chill with your mates and rest.
