The staff is exceptionally polite and helpful.
I felt genuinely welcomed right from the start. For a short-term stay, the residence provides all the essentials, and the regular activities alongside amenities like the cinema and party rooms give you plenty of ways to unwind without leaving the premises. The gym is a nice perk to have on-site, though the overall quality and variety of the equipment leave a bit to be desired if you take your workouts seriously.
Of course, not everything is perfect. On a smaller scale, the room setup doesn't allow for much freedom when it comes to decorating or rearranging. The compact layout makes simple daily things, like drying laundry or having friends over, pretty cramped. The price also felt slightly high for what is actually offered, though that is somewhat understandable given the nature and convenience of the property.
The major issues, however, revolve around maintenance and, above all, the constant stress caused by other residents. The elevators were frequently out of service or completely unusable. But living alongside some of the tenants was easily the most exhausting part of my experience. A frustrating number of people were disrespectful, loud, and dishonest. Late-night parties and shouting in the hallways were a regular occurrence. The theft situation was especially infuriating: after someone stole packages, Basecamp stopped accepting parcel deliveries altogether, and if I accidentally dropped an item from my pocket, it was guaranteed to disappear within literally five minutes. Dealing with that complete lack of respect on a daily basis was genuinely stressful.
All in all, I still consider my experience at Basecamp to be positive overall. I would recommend it as a straightforward, hassle-free option for anyone looking for a simple, welcoming place for a short period. That said, I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a long-term or permanent home.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a/ACg8ocJVvPQO-Gc_lqMr3sFsrpKGy_GzgwvkXbBn8XRHAgmJbUSEmsk=s128-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo
5
I've stayed in Basecamp for 6 months, and it was my first accommodation in Germany, it was honestly a wonderful experience, and they really helped me / navigated me through my journey of Germany. The location is one of the biggest advantages for me since I work at the hospital — it’s only a short walk away, which makes my daily routine so much more convenient and stress-free. Public transportation is also no problem at all, as the Haltestelle is very close by, making it easy to get around the city whenever needed. There’s also a convenience store nearby for daily essentials, and plenty of restaurants and Imbiss options around if you’re ever too tired or lazy to cook.

The staff here are always kind, professional, and approachable. Whenever I have a question or need assistance, they are quick to respond and always willing to help. It really gives me peace of mind knowing that there’s a supportive team looking after the place.

Another thing I really appreciate is the sense of safety and comfort. Living here, I feel secure and at ease, which is very important, especially when balancing a busy and sometimes stressful work schedule. The environment is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to make residents feel at home.

On top of that, Basecamp offers great facilities for its residents. There’s a gym that is accessible 24 hours a day, which is perfect for anyone with a busy or irregular schedule. The study rooms are also very useful — they provide a quiet space to focus and be productive. And for those looking to connect with others, Basecamp regularly organizes activities and events that are both fun and engaging, especially for students who want to build a sense of community.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my stay at Basecamp. It has been the perfect combination of convenience, professionalism, comfort, and great facilities, and I’m grateful to have found such a good place to live. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, welcoming, and well-equipped residence, especially if you want to be close to the hospital.
About Xior Student Housing Leipzig
Xior Student Housing Leipzig is a student accommodation in Leipzig offering single rooms, two or three-bedroom apartments, and studios.
