Newcastle is known for its rich industrial heritage and striking architecture. During the Industrial Revolution, Newcastle and the surrounding region became centres for coal mining, shipbuilding, and railway innovation, attracting a significant influx of people.

The city’s architecture reflects several historical influences, including the Norman Newcastle Castle, Victorian Central Station, and the Georgian Grainger Town, many of which are protected as Grade I and II listed structures. Therefore, the city is one of the best student cities, combining its historic past with student-friendly amenities.

Can a booking be cancelled for a full refund?

Yes, if the request is made within seven days of paying the Advance Rental Payment.

What happens if a student misses the 7-day window?

The student remains liable for the contract unless they provide proof of a visa rejection, failed grades, or medical emergency within 72 hours of the event.

Can a student leave after moving in?

Only if they have withdrawn from university or have a 60-day medical suspension. This requires four weeks' notice, and the departure must fall on the same day of the week the tenancy started.

Can a replacement tenant be found?

Yes. If the student does not meet the withdrawal criteria, they must find a suitable replacement. A £50 fee applies, and rent is owed until the new tenant takes over.

When can booking be cancelled by us?

If the applicant fails to sign the contract within a week, fails background/immigration checks, or provides false information.

The above cancellation policy is a synopsis of the property’s cancellation policy. There could be a few changes incorporated from time to time. Hence, we recommend you review the full Accommodation Contract for a comprehensive understanding of their cancellation policies.

What is the purpose of the £150 payment?

This is the Advance Rental Payment (ARP). It secures the room and is later deducted from the first rent instalment.

How long is a room held?

A room is reserved for seven days after the ARP is paid. The agreement must be signed within this time.

Can the move-in date or room be changed?

Room swaps and extensions are allowed for free before the start date (if available), but the contract length cannot be reduced.
