From the very start, moving in was smooth and stress free, which makes such a difference when you’re already overwhelmed with starting something new. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming, and that has stayed the same the whole time I’ve lived here. No matter what the issue is, there is always someone kind and approachable ready to help, which really makes you feel at home.

What really made Horizon Heights unforgettable for me though is the people. I’ve made life long friends here. I remember one of the first nights everyone was kind of awkwardly in the kitchen pretending to cook while introducing themselves, and somehow we ended up talking for hours. Within a week we were already having movie nights, doing big group dinners and just sitting around chatting late into the night. Those little moments ended up meaning the most.

The social side is definitely one of the best parts. The organised activities are really good, especially at the start when you’re trying to meet people, and they help you feel like part of a community. It never really feels lonely here because there is always something going on or someone around.

Of course it is not perfect. The lift does break sometimes which can be really annoying, especially if you live higher up, and the fire alarms going off at 5am are not fun at all. Standing outside half asleep in your pyjamas is definitely an experience. But even those moments kind of become part of it and end up being funny memories you look back on.

The kitchen is probably the main downside. It is quite small for 8 people and when everyone is trying to cook at the same time it can feel really cramped. The layout does not help either because the couch is so close to the table and cooking area, so everything feels a bit squished. Group dinners can be a bit chaotic, but we always made it work somehow.

The location is amazing though. Being right in the city centre makes everything so easy, whether it is going out, getting food or just getting to uni. You are close to everything which makes a big difference.

Overall Horizon Heights has been more than just accommodation for me. It has been a huge part of my experience. The friendships and memories I have made here have made everything worth it. Even with the small issues, I would not change my time here and I will always look back on it really fondly.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a-/ALV-UjV53SYp5oVyJ8mNhD17-kyemGzoDft2WOdnxHIjAg1hRELWui0=s128-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo-ba2
5
My first year university accommodation, one of the best in Liverpool in my opinion.
