Wonderful accommodation which I would recommend (on the expensive side but I thought it was worth it). Location is very convenient (close to uni, close to toowong village, bus stop, train station). Right by Brisbane River too so perfect for running or going on peaceful walks. RA staff are friendly and helpful, they were one of the best things about this place. Common area was clean and spacious, laundry facility is good, loved the rooftop, balcony, and terrace. Events were fun but I would have liked some bigger\/more exciting events. Would stay here a second term if I wasn't graduating after my exchange!\n\nThank you to all the staff here - I loved this place and I loved everyone I met!!! I think that the Unilodge in general worked well as an introductory accomodation for the international student just coming to Australia, particularly if you're attending UQ. It's in an extremely convenient location, about 9 mins by bus, 30 by walking to campus and only 30 seconds to the nearest grocery stores in the Toowong centre. The rooms are well organized with the typical amenities of a small dormitory with shared kitchens. If you're lucky, and I would highly reccomend it, you can have a view overlooking the river and West End Park which is always lovely to wake up to. The facilities are cleaned regularly and thoroughly. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I think they genuinely want to make your stay as inviting as possible. Although I am a post-graduate student so my schedules different, I could not reccomend highly enough to international undergraduates. It has activities all the time, which would be more convenient for someone with more freedom that comes from being in undergraduate.\n\nEven though I do believe they deserve the 5 stars, there are some small drawbacks that are worth mentioning: Kitchens are shared between two floors and there can be a lot of competition for space on only two stoves, it makes cooking harder. The fire alarm is extremely sensitive and can go off with little provocation even in the middle of the night, which is both a positive and negative. Since you get only one keycard lockouts can be a frustrating problem, one that I had issues with, especially with the cost. And lastly, the laundry room often has multiple breakdowns, but part of this is because others forget to clean lint traps.\n\nTherefore, even with some problems, because Google doesn't allow sub-reviews I would still rate 5\/5 because it was relatively cheap, convenient, friendly, and clean. My reccomendation is even stronger for undergraduate students as if I had done study here in undergrad it would have been an excellent choice. I want to say that Mel at the front desk deserves a particular shout out for being very helpful and kind my entire year I lived here.\n\nAnother benefit to mention is it's really easy to set up from overseas.\n\nOverall as a kind of halfway before finding a proper apartment it works great!","time":"1697423084","created_at":"2025-11-28 09:54:52","updated_at":"2025-11-28 09:54:52","deleted_at":null,"deleted_by":null},{"id":10167,"build_id":"100095","author_name":"Siyun Zhang","author_url":"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/contrib\/102695617026422996968\/reviews","language":"en","profile_photo_url":"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/a-\/ALV-UjUFsbhMaab5DXpkuO644VbJOqTHQ9GiooieQSmQMliP1FSSmME=s128-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo","rating":"5","relative_time_description":"2 years ago","text":"The student apartment has a stunningly beautiful environment, with picturesque scenery that can leave anyone breathless.
